Easy "Shock Absorber" WQ

***Searched the forums for any other posts about this, couldn't find any. Sorry if repost, maybe someone out there doesn't know***

For the world quest: "Shock Absorber" you basically just run into the cave and find this one sleeping Adolescent Storm Drake up on a ledge (the ones outside work too but you have to move around more), see image below:


You will want to stand either here:


Or here:


Then what you want to do is hit it 1 time with some ranged ability to wake it up and make it aggro to you. After that it will cast its little lighting storm spell on you and an electric tornado will spawn on you, see image below:


Then you just use a self heal ability and stand in the same spot while he keeps creating the storms on you, see image below:


Takes about 2 minutes for the meter to fill up this way, then you are done:


Way easier than running all over the damn cave trying to kill the little whelps or having to compete with other players for kills.

If you are a healing class, super easy... If you aren't a healing class, also easy; just use whatever damage mitigation abilities you have and tough it out for about 2 minutes.

Sorry to be rude bu isn't this how people have been doing it since the start? You've never needed a ledge you just cast a low ability or interrupt to pull aggro and literally stand there. It's not like they hit for much at 110.

True that this is the way most people did it all the time, tho there might be a few ppl who didn't know about that.

Sorry to be rude bu isn't this how people have been doing it since the start? You've never needed a ledge you just cast a low ability or interrupt to pull aggro and literally stand there. It's not like they hit for much at 110.

Every time I have this WQ I see dozens of people running around killing everything in a few seconds time, so I believe a lot of people have no idea that you can do this (I try to explain it via whispers to people I see in the cave running around randomly killing the mobs when I can, and I always get a surprised thank you when they realize it works). Most of the time when I try this with other drakes in the area someone comes up and kills the drake. This drake is a little bit out of the way and most people leave it alone, thus making it perfect for just standing there between the rocks and getting fully charged in a min or two.
