Legion Leveling guide, 100-110 in 6-7.5 hours.
repost from MMO-champion:
My in-game name is Rykun, and if you're like me you like to do things as efficiently as possible, and want to get to end game as fast as you can. I've been getting realm first level cap overall or for my class since Cataclysm (even 2 boxed my way to that one, damn classes during WOTLK launch).
For the past week i've been working on a leveling guide for my guild Intent on thrall and once I finished it I decided to share it with other communities in case other people had more to add to it. The pathing goes off of other community spreadsheets that have been floating around with more in depth information per quest hub in each zone. I just made this account so YouTube links and what not aren't posting for me... will edit in when I get the opportunity to. Until then you can find videos for all my stuff through my twitch channel found at the end of this post.
Group leveling is definitely the way to go this expansion if you can. We had a chain D/C issue in 3 out of 4 zones, and had a few bugs with the quests and still managed to finish in about 7 hours. Can shave a lot of time with several things we pathed out after the fact. If you had 0 quest competition and were leveling in a group with all the pathing we developed after the fact, we expect the time save to be over a hour. We expect with quest competition on live it will take about 6-7 hours. Soloing works fine with this guide as well, we expect about 7-8 hours solo.
It seems like most professions give you a quick couple of quests to do in Aszuna. Enchanting actually gives you 3 incredibly easy quests for 15k xp each right in the first quest hub. Engineering however makes you travel way out of your way from the other quests, and then only gives one quest that rewards xp. Once the profession quests in aszuna are done, you get another quest to go to dalaran which in turn gives you a quest to go to Val'shara or Highmountain. I'm assuming that if you're solo questing this will be fairly viable. If you do every main story quest solo you end up needing like 30% of a level at 109 after you complete all the dungeon quests so it may fill in that gap nicely with all the Val'shara/Highmountain quests. Don't think this is better than just doing a quick 8-10 minute dungeon though since most of the quests seem really out of the way from the optimal path for the main zone story.
You should definitely do every class order hall quest that pops up as you're leveling at 102/105, even quests to obtain another artifact might be worth doing since they give roughly around 20% of a level in 10 minutes or less for some classes. When you go to do your first Class Hall upgrade, 100% go for whatever trait you have that increases the chance to get rare/epic bonus from quest rewards. Titanforged relics while questing are OP.
Dungeon leveling doesn't seem that bad if you have a tank that makes the trash take no time at all, we did a Neltharion's Lair in about 8 minutes and got 12-14% of a level without usage of banners. Most of the XP you get from dungeons comes from the end bonus. I suspect with launch, this might be a better option at a point, and might be a good way to fill in some missing xp from the profession quests if you skipped them in a party, which i'd suggest since it's kind of annoying to do them unless everyone has the same profession set. They also just don't give a huge amount of xp to really worry about them.
You can tell what's a main story line quest by looking at the top right hand corner of the quest log, but my guide covers all the main story quests and the side quests necessary to hit 110 if you followed it. I'm not really sure why anyone would want to skip the dungeon quests either even if you were soloing, they give a huge amount of xp (like 130k) on top of the 2.5-3 bars of xp for completion, plus give an ilv 800 piece of gear that helps you get to the 785 ilv requirement to que heroics when you get to 110 plus it's a ilv 800 piece of gear you can wear while leveling from level 101 basically... which is a big upgrade from 743 ilv most people in mythic gear have even.
The first time my group did this run we didn't even complete two of the dungeons (because we tested a few other things) and got 110. Most dungeons in my group are like 8-15 minutes in length depending on which one we're doing. Don't expect other groups to be speed clearing like that but i'd wager it's still worth the time to do the dungeons.
Final test run clocked in at 5 hours 53 minutes. That's with 0 quest competition on beta. I expect it to take most people around 7 hours on launch.
-Dreanor Pre-Quest XP-
Twitch
Here's a VOD that shows some stuff for initial alliance questing in stormheim as well as the 24 nagrand quests and other things to note on.
NOTE: This has been tested after the nerfs to WOD content XP nerfs, it's also intended for boosted characters if you care about doing pre-expansion content XP gains in a minimal amount of time. My group is planning to invite 2 mains to an low pop server to take advantage of less competition, if you're on a high pop server it may be worth it to go directly to legion content.
Also keep in mind that despite getting 80% of a level, you'll probably be friendly before you hit 110 with all the leveling zones prior to Suramar.
All of the information bellow is intended for min-maxing players trying to get as much XP in as little time as possible. My group is probably just going to do Nagrand or Missives on our characters and get to Broken Isles.
You can also get around 40-50k xp from having all your garrison missives ready to turn in if you're really wanting to do something in less than a minute and get going.
NOTE: This is before calculating any zone XP gains (such as the tavern in Spires that gives 20% xp)
FFR/SMV Bonus Objectives - Not worth the time at all
Gorgrond Bonus Objectives - 63,650 xp
Gorgrond Monster Hunter/Prove Your Worth- 46,000 xp
Talrador Bonus Objectives - 74,200 xp
Nagrand Bonus Objectives - 72,000 xp
24 quests in Nagrand - 225,000
Nagrand Ring of Blood - 34,000 xp
Mar'goks Overwatch end quests - 34,000xp
Nagrand Total - 365,000 xp
Spires Bonus Objectives - 66,150
Total: 615,000
XP to level 101: 657,000
The thought behind it is, have every bonus objective only have 1 part of the criteria left so you can just swoop down and get fast xp prior when the level cap gets unlocked at launch, have 24 quests for Nagrand ready to turn in, as well as 19 quest items from the Monster Hunter/Prove Your Worth achievements ready to turn into your camp in Gorgrond and have hearths setup for quick ports around.
The pathing you should do for ALL of this is:
Get a guild cloak for the teleport to Orgrimar or Stormwind.
Have your character logged out in gorgrond
Turn in all the Monster Hunter/Prove Your Worth quests, also do the bonus objectives
Move south to Talador, finish all 4 bonus objectives there
Move to spires and work your way down the coast and finish all the objectives there
Hearth to your garrison and take a waygate to nagrand, turn in all your quests, do all the bonus objectives and if you want do the 5-6 ring of blood quests.
Cloak portal to Org/Stormwing and get to Dalaran to start legion stuff!
Note: If you can't do all this don't worry,f this guide doesn't rely on this. It's just a nice boost in xp that doesn't take alot of time if you choose to do so. Also FFR/SMV bonus objectives don't really give enough xp to warrant doing them as well. You could do treasures along the way as well but my group and I feel like this is the best way to spend time if you're going to do it. If you don't want to prep everything i'd suggest doing Nagrand over anything else.
-General Prep-
If you don't have one already, join a group that's farming coins/turtle mounts/ect in the WOD Garrison for coins to buy a Crimson Water Strider. It's by far the most useful mount to use while questing in Legion.
Guild battle standards of coordination for the extra 15% xp, rotated amongst your party.
Waterwalking Potions are a good alternative if you can't spend a few hours getting the water strider.
If you're not an engineer, get some goblin gliders to hold for a few spots that save a lot of time while leveling.
Flasks/Runspeed potions if you don't have a lot of movement speed on your current class.
Figure out what spec is going to be best for how you're leveling and get that artifact first.
Start talking to your friends about leveling if you have not already.
Addons:
Handy Notes Legion Treasures
Quick Quest
^ Self explanatory addons.
Keep in mind that some of the info about treasure chests might not be accurate since there's some sort of arbitrary system in place for how XP gets rewarded via chests. Just get handy notes and get any chest you find that's near you and you'll get about 100k xp from chests while you're leveling to 110.
STORMHEIM
This is the initial path for Stormheim for
alliance. Once you get "The Ancient Trials" questing is the same until you get to the end of the quest chain that unlocks the Halls of Valor dungeon quest.

-New Hub- -Greywatch-

75) Becoming the Ascendant
I was 102 at this point, but other people in my party were still a few bars away, at this point we did Halls of Valor and then went back to Dalaran and did class order hall stuff for 10-15 minutes and went to Aszuna. We opted to skip profession related quests.
Starting this zone after the class order hall quests/us completing Halls of Valor I was at about 48% into 102, the only profession quest worth doing in a group is the cooking one, only requires level 1 cooking, and you literally just buy 6 recipes from the same NPC and turn them in. Don't do the quests after that initial quest.

Once you're done with whatever order hall stuff your group decides to do (definitely should have the 9 hour follower mission going if you don't already)
then target Val'Sharah on your scouting map in your order hall. Be sure to pickup the quest "Purple Rain" outside of Violet Hold if you're 105 at this point too.

-Shipwreck Cove is kind of in a weird spot, probably best to just do it now since you have to talk to the NPC at Nesingwary to travel there the first time-
Note: Depending on where you are on XP you can probably skip this due to the optimization to the route, however it may also be a perfect amount of XP to hit 110 at the end of Highmountain. If you're above 50% into 108 at this point it may be worth it to skip this quest, since it flies you to the northern tip of Highmountain and requires you to fly all the way back to Nesingwary after the fact.

You're done, by this point you should be at least 10-60% into 109 (Depending if you did dungeon quests on the way), you can hit 110 by completing all the dungeon quests and all the class order hall quests (including other artifacts) as well as the quest "A fallen Star" in dalaran.
