How To Steal Names From Other Characters

First go to a realm server website that shows the characters on each realm. I recommend Realm Pop.

There is a short way to navigate the site and a long way to navigate the site. I will teach both, starting with the long way.

Finding The Names

1) Select your realm type, US or EU
2) Click the pi charts on the site that apply to your realm. ex: PvP, Normal, US, EST
Note: If you select the wrong option you can click the pi chart again to go to the previous display
3) Scroll to the bottom of the site and select your realm
4) On the new page scroll down and you will see a list of 250 names. Unfortunately there isn't a way to show every name but you can manipulate the list.

Fast Method

1) Go to Realm Pop
2) After the / put in your realm type (US or EU), a hyphen (-) and the name of your server followed by .html
3) The end result will look like this http://wow.realmpop.com/us-illidan.html

Choosing A Name

The names start at A and go down to the 250th character on the server in alphabetical order. Follow the steps below for a better chance of stealing a name.

1) Move the slider on the right side of the Level bar to 5.
Note: You can also do to 20 since a lot of players do not upgrade starter accounts.
2) Scroll through the name until you find several that you like. I recommend 5-10 for a good chance to get a few names unlocked.
3) If you don't see any names that you like tweak the options with the pi charts. You can sort by Race, Faction, Gender and Class.

Getting The Name

This part is the easiest but can also take the longest. It is completely dependent on the names you've chosen to take and the GM response time.

1) Open up a ticket in game or through the World of Warcraft site.
2) Compose a ticket describing your difficulty in getting a good name and list the names you would like. It can be very short or long, either works.
3) When the ticket is serviced the GM will make the names you requested available as long as they belong to characters on an inactive account. My ticket was serviced in under 24 hours.

I'd like to petition for the names Rasta, Druid, Morpheus and Rokhan. It's very hard to get good names on this very high pop server.

I've taken a look into this for you, and I'm happy to let you know that I was able to make the names Rasta,Morpheus and Rokhan available =) Keep in mind that it's now available on a first come first serve basis, so I would advise creating a character with it as soon as possible.

In regards to the name Druid, it does not actually apepar that anyone on the realm currently has the name - if you weren't able to create it, it means that the name it locked from use at the moment, either because someone had recently had it, and did a paid name service (which locks it for 90 days) or because the name isn't able to be created at all.

Please understand that this is not something we are generally able to do - it's fairly uncommon that we are able to make a name available, as we know how easy it is to get attached to a name. Of course, if you ever run into another name you want us to look into, please do let us know!

If you still need to contact us, please feel free to do so! We want to make sure that everything has been resolved properly. If you feel your ticket was resolved you can hit message read to close this and remove it from your screen.

The names of the characters that you try to steal from... Do they have to be inactive? I mean how can GM's clear a name when its user is currently playing?

Something I would like to add. Another way I went about finding names I wanted was I went the the WoW armory and looked up the name. If they're level 20 or below for your server it's a good chance their account is inactive.

I already got the names "Kungfupanda", "Athene", "Swifty", "Jenkins", "Panda". Does anyone knows if it's bannable to sell ingame names?
