Right inside AQ40 are 4 giants :O. If you kill one of them you will be able to mine a large obsidan chunk. Kill three of the four mobs and run out of the instance and there will be 3 mines that will appear. Just be sure that you don't kill all 4 mobs and you will be able to repeat this as many times as you want. The large obsidan chunks sell for 200g to 300 gold on the AH, on my server. So, you can make awsome amounts of money by using this method, happy mining!

AQ40 was a lvl 60, 40man raid. I don't see how you can solo 3 of the large giants while off-tanking the 4th and not dieing.

i looked at this post and though oh someone has bumped it, but this guy is actually talking seriously... obsidian shards have no use now... you get green chests that are better than the items that require the shards to craft haha, and the instance also takes a week to reset... as far as i remember when you kill one mob it locks you to the instance though i think they may have changed it in the bc.

Noone in the game can solo these. I think in t4/t5 you could MAYBE 5 man the 4 pull of these (tank, offtank, 2nd offtank healer / healer2).... but thats still pretty iffy because dps will be basically non-existant. as a guild my guild goes in there 25 man and wipes it for the enchants (2% threat, +15 glove agi, etc).... but overall.... its a pretty big waste.

All those enchants can be bought with rep in the 2.2 patch.

before BC was movie when 5 ppl doing those mobs....they all trash before 1st boss....

The 4 giants has been 5manned at 60, with tier 2 + TF (tank).

but this is kinda a waste at 70.
