New Non-Combat Pet - Captured Firefly

Hey all, just a quick post for everyone about something interesting I found. Apparently, as of Patch 2.1, there is a new non-combat pet called a Captured Firefly. You can see a picture of the item and description at http://www.wowhead.com/?item=29960.

It only drops off the Bogflare Needlers in Zangarmarsh. They are a yellow and blue-grayish wasp that can be found north of Serpent Lake. A pic of the monster and a map of their loacations can be found at http://www.wowhead.com/?npc=20197.

I can confirm that the item exists because I went out there and killed wasps for a good 40 minutes and had one drop. I was merely lucky though, the drop rate is extremely low. With a drop rate this low, and an item that is an Outland only monster that you can use without the expansion, this will probably be a nice collector's item. If you happen to get a few, I'm sure you could sell them on the AH for a nice amount, upwards of 1000g, I'd think.

Allakahzam says around 500-900g i guess it just depends on your server economy, this is gonna be another one of those red whelpling things isnt it. Everyone's gonna rush the spawns and pretty soon they will be worthless :P so sell them while you can.

found one of them while i leveled my shaman, 1 killed one when i came out of the water, killed one mob, and it dropped, i just thought: "wow, i could keep this, or sell it, lets see what they say about it at thottbot" there was no entry, as it was the day after the patch where it was implemented, treid some other database-pages, out of 6 pages there was 1 entry, so i put the firefly on the AH for 700g bidding und 900 buyout, got 700g, im glad i didnt keep it

I was going to farm for it, but for its drop rate, you can probably make money faster by just doing something more profitable, and less reliant on COMPLETE luck.

I was farming the whole place, like 2 hours and half, and just when i said...Uhmmmff nvm im quiting, it dropped ROFLMAO!

You know, it doesnt only give u 1k gold, but it does give u braggin' rights in the guild channel ^.^
