    3.3.2 Elemental Shaman PvE Guide

    This is the NON-edited form. I just wanted to get it out.. Ill make it pretty and easier to read ASAP

    3.3.2 Elemental Shaman PvE Guide

    ::Introduction::
    This guide is for making DPS with an Elemental Shaman in PvE(duh).
    The guide is pretty much information gathered from across the web, cooked down into this
    nifty little guide

    ::Talent build::
    Heres the talent build i use:
    (57/14/0) Talent Calculator - World of Warcraft

    This is not the best build nor the worst build, it only comes down to youre preferences.

    If youre raiding HC or Hard Mode putting points into Elemental Warding and Eye of the Storm,
    taken from Convection, so you wont die.

    Also if youre not AoE'ing you can skip Imp Fire Nova and put those into Eye of the Storm,
    but feel free to move points around as you see necesarry, aslong as you keep all the
    dmg increasing talents.

    ::Glyphs::
    As you can see from the Talent link you'll be using the following Major glyphs:
    -Glyph of Lightning Bolt
    -Glyph of Totem of Wrath
    -Glyph of Flame Shock

    These are the most "bang for the buck"-glyphs, but if youre using 2 pieces of T8,
    you make Glyph of Flame Shock redundant, and you should exchange that for Glyph of Lava.

    Minor Glyphs are up to you. But i think that Glyph of Water Shield is useful.
    Also if youre AoE'ing Glyph of Thunderstorm is a good choice so you wont knockback the mobs.

    ::Items::
    As a Shaman you can use Cloth, Leather and Mail, and alot of Cloth and Leather items will
    bring the stats thats beneficial to you. That being said, you shouldnt "steal" items from
    Mages/Locks/Spriests/Boomkin if its more beneficial from them, since they cant use your Mail
    (Yes its lousy reasoning xD). But ofc its up to your conscience.

    ::Stats::
    Crit Rating:
    Crit only affects your Lightning Bolt and Flame Shock
    (your Lava Burst should crit all the time due to Flame Shock)
    and therefore only have average benefit on your DPS

    It should be noted that with more Crit you will have more uptime on Clearcast

    Haste Rating:
    Haste Rating is more effective than Crit since it affects all your Spells.
    The amount of haste you'll ever need is 40%
    Thats 1093 rating with you Wrath of Air, and 966 if you have a Ret Pally around.

    Hit Rating:
    Hit Rating is what increases your DPS the most, untill youre capped. You'll need to have
    the hit cap or else your rotation will get screwed and you will loose significant DPS.

    Hit Cap is is 342 Hit Rating for Alliance(Draenei Aura) and 368 for Horde.
    You can further subtract 79 Hit Rating from these numbers if youre certain that a
    Moonkin/Spriest is present.

    Spellpower:
    This is the BEST stat for an EleSham.
    This stat provides more point for point than any other stat.

    Useless stats:
    Mp5
    Useless since you wont need mana regen due to the way EleShammies work

    Spirit
    This stat basically gives NOTHING but regen OUTSIDE combat, which you wont need.

    ::Gems::
    Meta:
    Chaotic Skyflare Diamond

    You should gem for Spellpower
    Red:
    Runed Cardinal Ruby
    Blue:
    Youll need 2 Glowing Dreadstone for Meta Requirement, and they should be put in the
    sockets with the best Socket Bonus(Spellpower recommended)

    Else all blue slots should be filled with Runed Cardinal Ruby

    Yellow:
    Reckless Ametrine if the Socket Bonus is a stat you can use, else Runed Cardinal Ruby.

    Notes:
    If youre not hitcapped use Veiled Ametrine/Rigid King's Amber in Red/Yellow Slots

    ::Relics::

    Bizuri's Totem of Shattered Ice is the Best in Slot, however it's reccommended that you
    buy Totem of Electrifying Wind first and use your Frost Badges to buy ALL other needed
    gear-pieces before you buy Bizuri's since the upgrade is very little, since
    Totem of Electrifying Wind has a HIGH uptime(almost all the time).

    ::Totems::
    Air
    Wrath of Air Totem is the totem you benefit of the most, however if no FrostDK/EnhSham
    is present in the raid, and youre the only Shammy Windfury Totem is better for the raid,
    depending on the composition of Melee/Casters.

    Earth
    This totem is based on what your raid is needed. If a DK is present Strength of Earth Totem
    is waste, and if a Pally is using Devotion Aura you shouldnt use Stoneskin Totem.
    But these are the most valuable Earth Totems you have.

    Be ready to use Tremor Totem when needed

    Fire
    Totem of Wrath is almost the only totem you should be using. But if required to AoE,
    you should be using Magma Totem together with Fire Nova and ChainLightning.

    Fire Elemental is also a significant DPS increase, and should be used together with Heroism/Bloodlust

    Water
    Healing Stream. But if no Blessing of Wisdom/RestoSham is present you should be using Mana Spring Totem.
    Cleansing Totem is also a nice totem if youre in need a removing poisons/diseases.

    ::Rotation/Priority::
    Now that we have all this in place, you would like to know how to actually do some DMG xD

    The priority is as follows:

    -Flame Shock(Keep the DoT up and running
    -Lava Burst
    -Chain Lightning(If you want to, since its only a slight DPS increase and can
    possibly delay Lava Burst if not used correctly)
    -Lightning Bolt

    On bossfights its reccommended that you use Thunderstorm on Cooldown for mana regen.

    ::Closing::
    This is pretty much all there is to DPS as an EleShammy, but feel free to add suggestions
    and feedback as you like, so we can improve this guide.

    If i remember well spirit gives mana while not casting not while not in combat(that is for hp regen). So as long as you get out of 5 sec rule (water shield can get you out of the rule) you will benefit from mana regen from spirit.
    Taking the case now i take it as granted that spirit is useless but not for the reason highlighted by you.
    Note:just a correction to your post:P

    Needs way more links.

    Also, CL is better if there's a lot of movement (imo) due to shorter cast time. Key point is that we can keep dps up while moving with instant spells, so use them!

    Okey this guide is very simplistic.
    Second of all LB vs CL is a debatable issue and itsn't one that should be discussed here on mmowned.
    Third as said before this guide is rip-off.
    You didn't even bother stating that mp5 is a small dps increase in terms that you won't have to thunderstorm as often but you shouldn't aim for mp5 however since most ele shammies will find themselves with mp5 mail gear you should inform them well.
    Very average guide.
