Easy farming in Icecrown

I ran into this place when I was questing for the Ebon Blade faction to get rep with them when there were around 2 quests you get later on in this place. You've probably been here before but you probably haven't thought about farming here.

Anyway, in this place there are 4 green portals/glowing statues/whatever with A LOT of skeletons walking around in circles in this area. These skeletons drop between 10-40s per mob, normally between 20-35s per mob. And the good part is that their hp is ridiculously low, so low that I can one-hit 3 of them in a multi-shot with my hunter if I crit. And this "path" is a very small area but with around 40-50 skeletons as well as a quest mob with about same amount of HP as a regular mob.

The cash drop as stated above is like any other 80 mob but with this amount of HP it's amazing way to farm gold. Being an AoE class makes it even faster since you just pull everyone and AoE them down smooth and easily. Greens are also commonly dropped.

And if you see the small cave just a little above the marked area on the map, fly up on that mountain to the very tiny camp and get the quest for that place from the Death Knight Gnome on the horse.

I can also add that if your an AoE class you will be able to get 10g per pull with just looted money.

I made 6-9g a pull on my mage, so you probably weren't pulling very many of them.

I said your able to get 10g, not that you always get that. And as the other guy said, he gets 6-9g per pull and I guarantee you that you CAN make more than 9g, but of course, it depends on how much silver per mob you get on that pull.

And also, yes, gathering professions make more gold than this if your lucky but the thing is that everyone don't have a gathering profession, or at least not at high level. Also, some people prefer just regular mob farming to get gold.

I went here for 6min and got 9g out of it. And since the monsters doesnt drop anything else than silver i dont see this place as good farming.

ALL AoE spots in icecrown have been hotfixed, no more drops other than few silvers

Your doing it wrong.


Since arena hotfix the 30-40 mobs are dropping 6-40g each, cloth and items rarely

I was going to make my own post similar to this but that would be a repost so I wanted to add twocents to this.

Since the mobs have so little health, if you single target kill them you can 1 most of them. If you are a stealth class or perhaps a nightelf like myself you keep the Master Summoner Zarod mob alive.

If you keep this mob alive (ie. Kill everything else then shadowmeld / stealth), he will walk around the area and respawn all of the mobs you just killed. This will greatly increase the effectiveness of this area!

weird, sometimes i can't loot them when they come out of the portal.

it worked fine when i arrived the first time, but now i can't loot any of the dead bodies.

shed any light on this?
