Some of the methods i use,

Quite simple but its a guaranteed profit, use auctioneers "vendor" scan, buyout all and sell to vendor,
Prolly alrdy posted here but cba to read through 17 pages while i alrdy earn 10-15k an hour..

2ndly and probably my best technique to increase profit,
Buy as much as possible from trade chat, if your item is being advertised there its usually cheaper then the AH price, you can also force them to lower that price (if you have the item once already) by posting it on the AH yourself, preferably on an alt,
That way, they might be fooled imto thinking the AH price is lower, and makes them lower thei price aswell

Everyone knows auctioneer, right? Most people use it.
And most people who use auctioneer do a refresh on the item they want to sell, to adjust to market prices, before posting the auction.

Let's take advantage of that.

For this example I will use embersilk cloth, since it was suitable on my server. Basically you need an item that stacks, and that has high supply and demand on AH.
Start with obtaining (buying/farming.. whatever. doesn't matter how) about 5 stacks.
Then, post the goods piece by piece (ie not a stack of 20 cloth per auction, only 1) for a ridiculously low price. (unfortunately you need to fill buyout as well, which is why we need 5 stacks). Post about 30 of these 1-piece auctions. Then go do something else for a while. If/when the auctions are bought, wait 30 minutes and then post 30 more the same way.

Personally, I only had to wait like 18 hours before AH was totally flooded with embersilk cloth at about 40% cost compared with when I started.

Next step, of course, is to buy all this dirt cheap cloth and start to sell them of at normal market price.
Voilá! Profit.

I know this may be old news to some, but it still works, and I haven't seen it mentioned here before.
Also, this is one method that blizzard simply can't fix, as it exploits players blindly trusting auctioneer's suggestions.

TL; DR
DON'T DO 2nd Technique, I lost 3k gold doing this. probably will work for lower price items and if you have tons of them.

Shouldn't they need to scan the AuctionHouse first, to even add the high price at their scan/average price then scan after you put it the new price before it would screw with their stats? I'm fiddling with ah allot. Should make sense to have to scan between. Then again. If you use proper skills in AuctionHouse, you can always see what prices have been for what materials in the past (If you scan often). Just my thoughts!
