Are Macros Safe?

Hello, my friend said to me awhile ago that macros are saved Server-side. Is this true? And if it is, is it safe for me to make macros for my GM commands? Thanks!

They were changed to Server side... Read the patches.

I remember patch notes saying that too, but I still do not have my macros when I log onto my roommates computer :/

you shouldn't worry about it, if it is saved server-side (the patch notes did say something about it but it doesn't seem to be working for me :S) then it will be saved to the private server, then when/if you log onto a live server, the macro's won't be there.
If they're saved client-side, then blizz will have to look through your macro's manually (accessing your computer), which is the same as it has been since private server's were made for WoW. They will also appear in your macro UI on live so be careful not to use them on live like I did, saying ".modify speed 14 .cheat fly .cheat flyspeed 32" in the middle of SW was rather embarrasing ^^

I had my macros I made on my Laptop when I tried it.
I think its saved to blizzard servers no matter what your realmlist it, but they probably don't care.

you can turn off saving macros server side...

In 3.0.3 you will be able to manage macros vs key bindings separately:
/console synchronizeConfig 0
-- turns off synchronization of UI settings
/console synchronizeBindings 0
-- turns off synchronization of key bindings
/console synchronizeMacros 0
-- turns off synchronization of macros *

do this on every computer you want to disable settings on.

They certainly are there for me, lent my acc to a friend and when I logged back on he had made a macro replacing my skills called "L2KEYBIND"

macros can run it mean command is legitimate, if unlawful macros offical will disable that command

Macros are saved server side. See the uselessness of me saying it aswell?

I'm scared Blizzard will run through all macros and find anti AFK macros and stuff like that, and do a banwave.
