[DK] Diseaseless Blood Spec (Raid DPS)

Here is an interesting spec that some might not be familiar with. Explanation to follow.

    Blood (51 points)

    2/2 Butchery
    3/3 Subversion
    5/5 Bladed Armor
    2/2 Two-Handed Weapon Specialization
    5/5 Dark Conviction
    3/3 Death Rune Mastery
    3/3 Bloody Strikes
3/3 Veteran of the Third War
    3/3 Bloody Vengeance
    2/2 Abomination's Might
    3/3 Bloodworms
    1/1 Hysteria
    5/5 Sudden Doom
    1/1 Vampiric Blood
    1/1 Heart Strike
    3/3 Might of Mograine
    5/5 Blood Gorged
    1/1 Dancing Rune Weapon

    Frost (0 points)

    None

    Unholy (20 points)

    2/2 Vicious Strikes
    3/3 Morbidity
    3/3 Virulence
    3/3 Ravenous Dead
    5/5 Necrosis
    3/3 Blood-Caked Blade
    1/1 Shadow of Death

(I am not yet able to post links, sorry for the inconveience)

Glyphs: Blood Strike, Obliterate, Raise Dead
    Presence: Blood

So, in this spec, you basically do not spend your rune cooldowns on planting diseases, you just obliterate, enabling death runes. You need Glyph of obliterate to make this work. The rotation basically goes like:

    Heart Strike x2
Obliterate x2 (Turns your frost and unholy runes into death runes)

At this point, you should have enough runic power to use a dancing rune weapon.

Heart Strike x6 ( Utilizing death runes )

    Then repeat.

At any point during this sequence, if the free Death Coil procs, it should be used.

Hysteria, Raise Dead, and other abilities should be used when deemed necessary )try to use Hysteria together with DRW).

At first this seems ridiculous, but calculations show that this spec can do just as much, if not more, damage as normal DK specs.

However, this spec is the most gear dependant spec of them all, so you need a solid weapon, and the Sigil which enhances Blood and Heart Strike.

As far as I know, this isn't a repost. If it is, I apologize. Also, similar information may be found on other sites, but I never found such an extensive guide on the subject, so I wrote one.

I would love to answer any further questions.

    Thanks for reading.

Looks like a nice and fun spec to use, but you do know that HS is just a normal attack that requires weapon, thus it is mitigated by armor and such. So I think armor penetration should be needed for this spec as it would not be doing as much damage, and by the way, for optimal DPS go in blood presence since you really need the 15% increased damage moreover then haste in unholy presence.

I like that spec, and gonna try it out when I am upgeared with a good 2 hander. I wouldn't try this spec if you got a bad 2 hander no, only if you got a great one like the titansteel destroyer or demise, but otherwise then that it looks like a fun spec to try out, it is more a one-on-one spec rather then a AoE so that is rather disappointing so you won't be getting high damage output then a HB spec since now of this patch, CC isn't that important anymore and everyon AoE the shit out lol. But good try nonetheless.

I already mentioned the blood presence

It is a one-on-one spec, that is true, but even with my crappy gear I can steadily crit 5k-5.5k in naxx10.

    Thanks for the feedback!

Tried on target dummy, got now a good 2 hander (armageddon) and I must say it is quite disappointing. On target dummies I only got 3k damage (with aoe damage from heart strike) and on boss I only got 2k. I am just doing 2 heart strikes, then 2 obliterates, then heart strike again and doing death coils when I can't use either heart strike nor obliterate or when that talent procs. Even with DRW + Hysteria + Ghoul my DPS only got to 2.4K on boss. Either I am doing something wrong or I just need to test it out on real raids.
