Mage AoE farming Spec

That is my current AoE farming spec. It really has paid off for me

Any comments on it would help me, to make it better?

idk but i think it would be better for no frost bolt and put it in something else more usefull and the counterspell mayb since its aoe farm magic abosorpsion
well this is just my opinion i have 41 mage but i have 66 lock 65 rogue 61 warrior 58 pally so dont think im a noob hehe

That's a good point, but I'm a 70 mage :P and the 2 into there is there just in case a player attacks me. I measured that if I frostbolt the player, he/she would be slowed, and I would have JUST enough time to lay the imp Blizzard on the AoE targets.

Well I recently hit 70 with my pally and got sick of it (mainly from latest nerfs) so I re-rolled mage, man I love AoE grinding gnolls in wetlands!! It's so freakin cool and I don't even have Cone of Cold yet! I can't wait for 70...

Yeah man, when you're leveling up and AoE grinding, trust me, you'll have more than enough money for your mounts, new gear and everything. It's what I did believe it or not, I have two wyvern mounts

Ok, well a basic rundown of AoE grinding is this. MAke sure you have Improved Blizzard 3/3 in your talents!!! Now, go aggro some enemies with your wand until you have 3-5 (depends on your survivability). Now group them up then FROST NOVA. now blink away, and use blizzard on them. They'll all be slowed down. Keep doing blizzard till they get to you, and when they do, your frost nova shold be up again and use it again. now jut repeat

Thats an aoe'ing build. No fancy blizzard wich oom you out unless your main stat is intellect (hello, spelldamage ?)

Round them up with ice armor, make a nice group, frostnova, get range fast, trinket, flamestrike and cone of cold, run away now they are slowed, do blastwaver when CoC slowing has run out, frostnova CD will be ready, do it, and CoC again, do Arcane explosions in the meanwhile.

It takes some practice and skill, but you'll get it afther a while and you'll notice it owns.

It takes some practice and skill, but you'll get it afther a while and you'll notice it owns.

The only problem with this is, its not very controlled. AoE farming/grinding itself is extremely inefficient imo. Single target grinding is much faster. For every AoE pull, there too much of a chance of death as well as the after drinking/eating. With fire, you can pretty much 2-3 shot every mob, and go onto the next. AND if you do manage to AoE everything down, you have to wait for respawns. At least with single targets you won't go bored out of your mind.
