Scam the Scammers for free gamecards!

Thank you http://www.mmowned.com/forums/wow-sc...seriously.html for giving me the idea, especially soul eater.

    The scam is very simple.

    1. Find a gamecard code that wasn't used too long ago. Shouldn't be too hard to find, example: http://www.mmowned.com/forums/accoun...ime-codes.html <--Don't use those though because some of them have been used by mmowned members.
    2. Go find one of those "Duplicate your gamecard" things on youtube.
    3. Call the billing department, and tell them that you have been scammed out of your Gamecard by the youtube video.
    4. The blizz employee should then ask you for the code.

What this will do, is they will track down the account that is using that code and give him a warning/ban, and will give you your gamecard back / a new one. (Theoretically, not tested yet*)

I have not tested this, so you might end up needing some proof of purchase like a reciept, although I have no Idea how that will work over the phone.

Anyways, just trying to contribute, tell me what you think.

The person over the phone will not say "You were trying to scam us by using the youtube thing, kthxbai."

The people that work there are getting paid to help you.

Therefore, they will help you, and not get you banned.

I suggest you should test this before posting because it doesnt work.
I believe you would have to mail in your gamecard plus the receipt to Blizzard to get a new one. So therefore your guide is incorrect.

Not only does it violate the unspoken rule of not scamming scammers (honor among thieves etc ), but it just seems stupid. You're admitting to a Blizzard representative that you tried to exploit their system to basically steal money they should be getting. I doubt they will have much sympathy for you, regardless if you can come up with a game card and a receipt...which you don't have.

You're not technically scamming scammers (ok deceiving title).
The only reason the youtube thing is there is to make blizz think you got scammed.

The way this would work is:

    1. Guy tries the gamecard scam, someone sends them real code, but then decides to use it before the scammer can do anything.

    2. Scammer either posts the code on some forum, or skips to step 3.

    3. Take the code, and tell blizzard you were scammed for it.

    4. If this all goes to plan, no scammers will be directly harmed by this.

And about the blizz thing, I kind of agree, but also, the guy working on the phone is just some random employee, he's not like the CEO of Blizz. So, therefore he probably wouldn't care, and just help you solve the problem (while thinking to himself "People are getting dumber and dumber everyday.)

I don't know if need arises tell the employee that your friend wanted a code too so he could play wow, and he did this without your permission.

Well that's a bit better explanation. Still, I don't see how you're going to get around the (supposed) requirement of sending in a gamecard and reciept, but at least you made an effort to contribute something.

Very Good Idea, But then again chances of Blizzard™ actually giving you a refund are quite slim.

In the eyes of Blizzard™, this is what you did.

    1) You used a fake World of Warcraft Game Card Generator.

    2) You actually are gullible enough to believe stupid hoaxes like this.

    3) If they find out that you are trying to scam their company, what will happen?

    4) They ask for proof that you did indeed buy the game card, which you most likely do not have.

    5) What does all of this, tell Blizzard™?

    4) You could say you bought the gamecard from Gamestop, I doubt they will go to all the trouble to call them up and track down the individual purchase.

Plus does anyone know if the gamecards are different other than the code?
I mean, if you bought a gamecard a while ago, then did this scam with another code, will they be able to tell which gamecard you actually bought?

    Blizzard has tight security now-a-days.

My friend actually rented an account to a WoW Rental Site, they didn't do anything, and in less than 24 hours, the account has gotten Banned.

Test it out to see if it works.

Lol getting your account banned by a rental site?

    I'd say that's pretty common.

Blizzard has no way of tracing a game card code so this will fail.

What do you mean, cant they just check who used the code? I'm sure there's a database where they store this info.

    No, there isn't.

You think Blizzard has a machine that stores 24277528894728942 Game Cards?

Even if you have an receipt, it wouldn't mean that you have that game card.
