[5.3] Removal of quests/items

First and foremost, this thread is made in order to share information regarding items or quests that may or may not be removed in patch 5.3.

As we've seen in previous patches/expansion-releases, there has always been some kind of removal of certain quests & certain instances, whether it is via re-release of instances, zone-rewamps or quest-redesigning - and sometimes (maybe most of the times) NPC removal. The examples are countless. Ruby shades, AQ questline, Naxx40, you name it.
Thing is, I'm loving to collect this stuff before it becomes unobtainable - it can also be quite profitable. Therefor, I'm proposing a thread to share ideas regarding the removal of quest, items, NPC's.

So this is what I have for 5.3:
Quest Campaign: Escalation

The Darkspear Trolls are in open rebellion against the Warchief! Aid your faction in preparing to rout Garrosh Hellscream from Orgrimmar

Alliance heroes will scout Orgrimmar's outskirts and engage in SI:7 espionage to weaken Garrosh’s power structure.
Horde heroes will help Vol’jin’s insurgency survive a Kor’kron assault and advance towards the Horde capital.


Visit Lorewalker Cho at the Seat of Knowledge in the Vale of Eternal Blossoms to begin questing.
As seen in the official patch-notes for 5.3 PTR above, a new quest campaign will hit certain zones in Durotar. This will, if it isn't a phased questline, mean removal of NPC's & quest - and thereby items - from this particular zone. I've also heard that they plan on reinstating ZA & ZG gear in form of replicas qua this questline.

The same goes for Barrens:
Battlefield: Barrens


Put the stranglehold on Orgrimmar by undermining the Kor’kron supply chain in Northern Barrens.

Collect resources by killing Kor’kron loyalists and their supporters.
Get a group together to kill Kor’kron leaders for bonus resources.
Escort your faction’s caravans across the zone for even more additional resources.


The Darkspear Rebellion will reward your efforts to undermine the Warchief by helping you upgrade Latent Kor’kron Armor into useable gear.
Participate in the Escalation Quest Campaign to learn how to engage in the Barrens conflict.

Again, some quests might be removed. This questline may also be phased.

That's pretty much what will be changed regarding quests, and nothing new in that.
I'm just requesting more info from people on PTR; is the quests in phases, or will zones be rewamped/quests deleted?
