AFAIK, you're just no longer able to claim titles and rewards based upon your arena rating at the end of the season.

If you get the achievement, and you've purchased the elite sets, you'll be able to keep them. IIRC you need a current rating of 2k+ to purchase them.

Your information seems really outdated.You cant purchase elite sets before season ends unlike WOD/MOP.They are only RNG drop now.After the season ends he doesnt need 2k cr to buy them only the legion season 4 elite achiv will be enough.Since they dont remove the achivments he should be able to buy the elite set when season 5 starts.

- Though it does require that you have previously obliterated some other elite pieces for the echoes of conquest.
