What actions could be "exploitation of game mechanics"?

I just got perman-banned for that reason and I am really not sure why. Does anyone have an example? I am just a causal raider, never bots or anything, but I did purchase gold before, could this be the reason?

I dont think its from gold buying, i got banned and i did not buy any gold from the start of legion..

On second thought I think it might be a Rated RBG win trade I did for AP grinding.

I have a friend that works at Blizzard.

They ran a script today for anyone that exploited battlegrounds, mostly the people that bought wins.
If your name was on the list, your account got banned. There is almost no hope in getting unbanned either.
He said that from what he understands, this went to as far back as January in terms of checking for people exploiting.

This sounds accurate. My account, which hasn't been active in about 4 months, was hit today.

Confirmed by GM that the ban wave was sent out for win trading in PvP in some way. I was unlawfully banned, yet all the people I've queued with in the Legion season aren't banned, riddle me that one Blizzard. They've double passed my account already and are saying I 100% confirmed did wintrade. Nice. Great HR you have going there, because I most definitely didn't do anything.

The ban was for Win/ Trading in PVP which is cheating.

I didn't do a damn thing either and I got hit with the ban. I have less than 20 arena wins and less than 10 RBG wins in all of Legion! All of the RBG wins were with my guild and the arena wins were from joining up with people who had advertised in LFG.

Their ****ing script must have a bug in it somewhere, this is unacceptable.

Nothing banned for selling wins, but I only did that in trade chat for gold, with people self playing. So that's not really against the rules.

When they've done this in the past, if you've been put against wintrading teams multiple times, or gained some rating as a result of someone elses wintrading (them not accepting queue, leaving game, not doing anything to lose on purpose) then you are classified as a wintrader in their system.
