Lets discuss future of WoW gold selling

I made this thread so gold sellers and farmers can discuss more about it.Price drop is constant, and there are no signs of recovering up.I think only thing which can save this from dying is Legion, and that will be for like 2-3 weeks while expansion is fresh, later price will drop more than ever, many ppl will quit gold selling / farming and then we can say its over with wow and gold selling.

hopefully they will make things more harder in Legion to obtain gold, even casual players can farm by clicking on gariosn 30-60k monthly.

I think they will increase the gold cap and make gold even easier to obtain but raise the prices/costs of all items

    OR

Scale down ALL gold you can get so the rich stay rich (and buy tokens which other users pay real $ for) and the poor will have a higher demand for gold.

the latter is honestly more likely, or a combination of the two.

a "stat squish" for gold would be very blizzard-like

The chance of this happening is next to zero.

Stat squish is easy, as it purely affects computer calculated values. There is no net loss for players.

A gold squish would directly affect player wealth. They can squish the amount of gold you get from world rewards, whether they be quests, dungeons, garrisons or looting, and then proportionally squish the cost of items from vendors, the cost of repairs and so on and there's no problem. However, they can't squish the player market. A squish will only cause the rich and the hoarders to become richer through being able to directly control the price of high value items and the poor to become poorer by having to pay these prices.

A far more likely solution to the growing amount of gold would be to introduce a fourth currency above gold like many other games have.

As for selling gold - that can be put down to "that's life". RMT is an ever changing market. Why would Blizzard make gold harder to get when it doesn't affect players, but only affects gold sellers which they want to get rid of? If everyone is earning 50k a day, prices will inflate accordingly, token prices will increase but it will still be proportional to player wealth, AH prices will increase but the same will occur. Gold prices will drop, but all that affects is the gold sellers. Gold buyers love it, Blizzard loves it.

Welcome to the world of business - adapt or die.

Let me make this easy for you. When WoW was vanilla, gold was selling for about $30 for 1k. TBC was released, and gold demand went up for 2-3 weeks, then the price of gold dropped. As soon as bots are released, the price of gold goes down. Botters always lower the prices of gold, make it easier to farm unattended - low labor cost. Expansions always increase the demand, but then lower within 1 month, and lower prices as it becomes easier to farm gold.

The only way to increase the cost of gold, is to get rid of the gold farmers - aka botters. So if you see someone botting, report them ingame. I know this might go against all that you believe in, but it's the best way to increase the cost of gold, but lowering supplies. Sadly however it takes a lot to get rid of the stockpiles.

It's best to find items which increase in value, as prices go down, so that the return is worth the loss. IF the WoW Token was something you could buy with gold and then resell (as it is in other games), this would be one such item. Otherwise it's often better to sell off everything and dump the gold right after an expansion, level your toons, and farm after they are max level. Things which may be safe? Transmog items/mounts/pets. Anything else? Dump - even items you saved for your own characters such as ore, herbs, leather/hides.

If you really want to make money from gold farming, find another game, which does not offer bots. Create your own bot (without giving to others) or script, and sell gold in that game. WoW is a dead end and will make less and less for you.
