How not to get scammed?

My friend is triying to sell his 70 warlock with full merciless for cheap(350+) and he doesnt want to get scammed, could someone tell me some tips on how not to get scammed? please. :S

sell it to a guildy/ friend from WoW or RL.

or be very careful, get the persons phone number and first/last name, address optional. call the person IRL and speak to them (doesn't prove anything but scammers dont like it ). also ask if the buyer cares if you dont have the email/ SQ-A, if he says no then he might be a scammer but then you can also withold that information until after your paid VIA paypal (make sure their paypal verified) as "backup/insurance" thats my 2 cents, feel free to call me an idiot if this wont work/isnt scam proof

but remember the other guy can always cancel the paypal payment after all info is given to him.
