World of Warcraft Wealth Survey (2012)

Hello everyone,

Many of you might not recognize me but last year I ran the World of Warcraft Wealth Survey. It turned out very well and garnered lots of interest, so I decided to run it again this year.This year not only will the survey be gauging player wealth but it will provide the second data point to start tracking inflation hopefully.

The survey is completely anonymous, not even your IP will be tracked, so you can feel safe answering all the questions as honestly as possible (there are some questions about botting that might normally give people pause). I ask everyone who takes the survey to answer as truthfully as possible, nothing is to be gained by lying about anything on the survey.

It was more of a impromptu way of keeping track of all the threads haha, though I suppose bookmarks might've been a bit more prudent lol

I think my original Stormspire's poll was a little bit biased because it only attempted to evaluate wealth among those who were purposely trying to amass it. Whereas Xsinthis' was a bit more accurate because he used a wide variety of players from different communities (and he actually evaluated the results, putting forward useful information rather than just plain data).

Indeed, last year I collected over 2500 results not just from the gold community but from WoW Insider, MMO-C, official forums and more.

This year I'm just shy of 10,000 results from an even larger selection of communities including OwnedCore
