More than likely to fix the server mechanic. They'll fix the issue, I guess it's better than having it used under wraps for months on end. One of their guys was banned for using it so Blizzard knows its there and so they went on a mass spree.

I see I had mistaken myself before :P Now I researched it some more and I found out that it is indeed all real.

I can't speak for others but i would certainly be interested to know exactly (or vaguely) how this was done, what was being exploited to kill people (Assuming that it is now fixed and therefore the information isn't really worth keeping secret anymore?)

My guess is pushing packets with opcodes indicating to the server that the player has gotten a death touch buff for x yds range. I imagine the same sort of thing could be done to re-create the first plague, if that's how this is happening.

And my guess is that you aren't familiar with how Wow works under the hood.
