How to tell when a Gamecard was purchased?

Yeah, i was going snooping in my sisters room for her debit card (She already lost it after two days >.> and i found a gamecard with the security thing rubbed off. I was wondering if there was a way to figure out when it was purchased to see if it was used... Can someone to go a past boughten card and see if you see what i see?

In the lower left hand corner over the Blizzard emblem there is a barcode with a number under it, mines 09, does that mean it was purchased in 09? It would make sense, she was the one that noticed our account got banned, she might have been trying to activate it at the time...

I don't really think so, why does it matter, the codes just have to pass the check, it doesn't check when that code was generated and distributed.

Yes, yes, i dont want to get screamed at when i used her game card and she was saving it for something.. And we were banned at the beginning of the month and our account is inactive right now, so if it was made this year, its unused.
