    [Blink Exploration] Culling of Stratholme

    Evening!

I was in the area with my mage (doing the Old Hillsbrad Foothills explorations) and decided to take a break and go to Culling of Stratholme. I searched for ways to get out, and I could only really find a few, and they required a DC macro to get outside of the invisible wall. There used to be a way to blink past the wall by going into the water, and then you could blink past it. Already tried that, and it didn't quite work.

I started poking around, looking for ways to use my new-found blink trick. Blinking though invisible walls that you cannot usually blink though via a WMO type terrain. Well, it just so happens that I found a tree in Culling of Stratholme and found a way past the invisible wall.

Here is the video, note I cannot do anything about the fog, as it is there as a "We're going to put this annoying fog here so you don't look too far into the distance, because we have hidden stuffz out there. <3 Blizz." Afaik, it cannot be turn off (maybe though some kind of core editing, something that is way beyond me ) There are no "Unknown Zones" that I am aware of in this instance. And what explorer doesn't have red armor lol.

    Just a few side notes:
    • Do not get too cocky and run around willy-nilly. There are several drops that if you aren't ready for, you could kill yourself. Running past the invisible wall can make you have to start again.
    • Watch out for "white lines" on your map. You will end up falling off the map into the white unknown, and could kill yourself if you aren't slowfalling. No way back up (that I know of.)
    • Run towards the mountain after you blink past the tree. If you don't, you risk going back to the other side of the invisible wall, and have to start over again.

    Enjoy!

EDIT: Yay! iMove did what I wanted to it do, I finally got it to make a 1080p movie. The other ones I selected 1080p and uploaded them and they came out crappy. Hopefully I can do the same for future videos. Only thing I don't understand is why it is cutting off some of the top and bottom of the video. You can tell because half of the map and stuff is cut off. Oh well, just excited it uploaded 1080p this time

I have never used Demon Leap before, but if it's anything like Blink it should work!

Yeah I have never leveled a Warlock, so I have no idea how Demon Leap works. Looking it up on Wowhead.com, it seems to me like it is just like Heroic Leap; so it may not work, since blink doesn't actually make you go up in the air, it just teleports you 20 yards in front of you. Report back what you find though! I am always looking for new methods and new abilities to explore with.

It just so happens that you, my friend, are awesome. You're the most promising new explorer in our community, and I love all this rapid-fire contributing. I especially love your "new-found blink trick", and the fact that you are running around searching for any location that has this anomaly and abusing it.

It just so happens that the site finally let me +rep you again.... so here's +4 rep coming your way.

*edit: A side note for all you non-Mages.... his trick works with the Mushroom Chair, too! These are not Mage-only explorations!

I'm again with trokair, i'm really impressed by what you did this last days (even more that jjshadoe). It's so awesome to see new faces here and you're definitely a talented explorer. My voice might not worth much but atleast know that i really appreciate what you do here.
I'm just starting to try explorations with my mage and already because of you (and trokair) i know two awesome ways to use blink. The first one was the 180° slowfall (which i'm using in my last exploration btw, this + goblin jump makes it really easy to go under the world) and now the wmo to blink through invisible walls.

The area isn't new at all but what's your using to reach these place is worth the video and thread.

I wish i could +rep you but i'm pretty sure i'll have to spread ...

Edit : yep must spread again..

Thanks! I will have to find more areas like this. Oh and btw, this works in Battlegrounds too. I have been searching around WSG for a while, but had no luck with a tree or other WMO crossing over the invisible wall. If I do find one, in any of the BGs, I will post a video on it.
