    Transmog Weapons by Spec

TL/DR: Illusions and By Spec Transmog broke the Transmog on Weapons. But it fixes itself by Relogging

    --------------------------------------------

There is a way to "broke" the Transmog on Weapons by using the new "Current Specialization Only" and Illusions making the weapon take a random transmog, even on the Character Selection Screen, until you Relog the Character,

    Steps to Replicate:

Erase the Transmog on a Weapon that is Transmoged and has an Enchant Illusion. (Don't erase the Illusion) Make sure the "All Specializations" is selected.

Transmog the Weapon to something without changing the Enchant Illusion, but this time select "Current Specialization Only".

Change Specialization, it should Transmog into something else.

    Examples:

    --------------------------------------------

    Rogue Tank Spec Confirmed!!1:

    https://i.imgur.com/up9DKSv.jpg

There you can see my Rogue with her new "Shield". It appears that the bug makes every 1H Weapon into the same shield: Large Metal Shield Large Metal Shield - Item - World of Warcraft

Tried this with an 1h Axe/Sword and a Dagger.
The Shield isn't even Transmogable in the first place.

    --------------------------------------------

    Invisible 2H Weapon:

    https://i.imgur.com/wNNxVUc.jpg

There you can see my Paladin with an Invisible 2H Mace because it has the apparance of the Nomadic Bracers Nomadic Bracers - Item - World of Warcraft

Tried this with a 2h Mace and a Polearm.
The bracer isn't even in the game.

    --------------------------------------------

This for obvious reason appears to not work on Weapons that can't have Illusions. (Ranged and Shields).
Other people can also see it.

To be clear, it doesn't transmog the item to random stuff. Each illusion has certain weapons it transmogs to, dancing steel changes to vanilla glaives. (Each illusion is vanilla items.)

Any idea if a list of the illusions - weapons exist?

After some research. It is enchant based. IE if depends on what enchant you start with. When i started with Winter's Grasp I always got an argent avenger (I believe that's what it's called.) If you start with colossus you get the vanilla warglaives.
I have yet to write a comprehensive guide on all the different enchant combos. (Mainly bc I dont have all the tomes/some of the raid enchants)

This was already discovered by Ferib months ago and further researched by other people like Dr Hearthstone Techno Boy on youtube who seems to have gotten the warglaives months ago.
A person called Ashoran also discovered a way how to permanently save the appearances after relogging (without using DC macro). The only weapon appearance that can't be saved are the "Monster" weapons like warglaives or GM mace.

I will have to be very honest at this point. Since there is pretty much no more credit for you to claim on this matter, it's advisable to take the thread down till a way is found to save the "Monster" weapons permanently. Or else it'll just get fixed by Blizzard by bringing this back up to their attention, and no one will gain anything.

I'll be resubbing to wow soon, so I'll try my best to find a way to save the warglaives/GM mace appearances permanently. Have a few ideas that might work hopefully.

    I'm apparently an idiot, because I spent 7k gold trying to get this to work. I don't normally transmog my weapons since I like all the Balance of Power artifact skins, but I wanted the chance to have a silly appearance if only for a day. I followed the opening post to the T;

    1) Have transmogged weapon with transmogged enchant
    2) All Spec > Remove Weapon Transmog > Apply
    3) Current Spec > Add Weapon Transmog > Apply
    4) Change Spec

In my case, I used my Warrior, going between Arms and Fury, Rogue going between Outlaw and Assassination, and Druid going between Resto and Guardian. It just won't work, no matter what weapon/enchant combo I try. When removing the transmog and not illusion, it places a circle over the enchant icon denoting that the weapon cannot be given enchants. The enchant does stay when transmogging to another item, but it is gone with the untransmogged artifact weapon. Is there some step that isn't posted that I somehow missed, or does this not work for artifact weapons?

    1. Main Spec - All Spec > add illusion and any weapon transmog
    2. Off Spec - Current Spec > Revert weapon transmog
    3. Change back to main spec

    It's quite simple actually.

Really looking forward to this because there are so many people coming up with the warglaive appearance thereby resurfacing this glitch to Blizzard's attention.

You can make the mog permanent by making use of the "Garrison Ilusions"

Doesn't work for glaives though, which is the most important appearance
