Ok ladies and gentlemen, I have figured it out. INCLUDING artifact weapon being hidden.
BEFORE YOU DO ANYTHING - BANK YOUR OFFSPEC ARTIFACT
1- Go into Main Spec, Open Transmog Window, pay attention to your "Outfits", de-transmog your Artifact INCLUDING ENCHANTS THIS IS THE BLOCK, basically you want a fresh simple Artifact only..
2- Select from drop down "All" and click Accept. Close Transmog Window. Re-open Transmog Window & select "Currently". Close one more time.
3- Open Transmog Window > Select different Weapon (doesn't matter) > click Apply.
4- Change to Offspec > Open Transmog Window > Select "Currently" > REMOVE TRANSMOG ON ARTIFACT > Click Accept.
5- Change back to Main Spec
6- Congratulations your weapon is now hidden.
This is done on an Unholy DK (Mainspec), using Blood (Offspec) as the Banked Artifact. When you bank your offspec Artifact it doesn't cause your Mainspec Artifact to Switch to Offspec Artifact because it isn't in your bag, it's in the bank. What results is a Red "broken" look on your Mainspec Artifact when you are in your Offspec. The reason this eluded me for so long is that the setup that Ferib discovered doesnt work on Artifacts, INSTEAD of Applying a New Mog on the "Currently" step offspec, we simply REMOVE the previous Mainspec transmog we put.
I made this account today after simply eyeing up these forums for a long time, I hope I contributed well. Enjoy beating the shit out of your Raid Bosses with your bear hands !
Zalashi out.

The problem now is making it work for the Artifact weapon, but I'm not sure how exactly "kiei" managed to do it from the above posts. Any thoughts ? Just a clarification on the banking part please.
I don't know about other classes, but, as demon hunter, if I'm on dps spect and I go to the bank to deposit my tanking artifact, and then I change spect, I still have equipped my dps artifact. I don't gain any benefit of the stats, but at least it remains equipped, so you can apply the Ferib method.

I mannaged to made it relog-proof once.
I applyd multiple random weapon tmogs & illusions, maybe that did the job.

I think what you managed in the earlier screenshot is simply having the effect visible on the character selection screen after relogging. That's normal, we all get that. But once you log back in, the effect is gone. We really need to make this log proof before it gets hotfixed guys.

No, im sure i still had the weapon after i relogged, maybe it had somthing to do with changing spec before logging out?
Or maybe placing your weapon in a void storage or bank?

I tried the void storage and bank but both didn't work. Try to imitate what you did, perhaps you will remember.

Do you have a screenshot for the item that persisted throughout the relog? Include the item+how it looks on your character + what illusion enchant it has.

Hi
your answer is
Weapon Illusions are a new transmog option for players in Legion. These illusions allow you to change the glow appearance of your weapon. Originally the glow effects were nice perks of enchants you applied to your weapon for stat boosts, but over time Blizzard has created Illusion versions of these Enchants. Now can use a current enchant on their weapon for stats, but modify the appearance of the glow for fashion.
In Warlords of Draenor, players with the Level 2 Enchanting Hut and an assigned Follower could access Weapon Illusions. This system has been greatly expanded in Legion. Players can collect permanent illusion options from all over the world, saving them to the account-wide Wardrobe system. In Legion, several new glow effects have been added to the Illusion system, and more popular old appearances have been brought back which were missing from the Warlords Garrison.
