My shaman exploit guide for the new patch.




Some choice plays here:

1) Bypass ALL gates in Strand Of The Ancients and spam earthquake at the start for huge dps by exploiting prep debuff.
2) Use gust of wind to get ontop of things and spam chain lightning.
3) Travelling storms honor talent works on all items not just players, and using the toy racers you can create a knockback bomb. Enormous fun.
4) Call primal elemental, switch talent, elemental remains boosted while you get dps boost from the talent you replaced it with.

I'm developing one currently.

Melee classes are always difficult. There's a few tricks with death grip and the unholy pet, but not enough for a guide currently.

It is a problem when perfectly executed but for most of the time it doesn't happen. Death Grip glitches out half the time. If you can't cc them. Or get out of LOS. And they actually notice you up there.

OK people keep saying PM'ing about Death grip thing so I thought I'd explain this in more detail.

Here's how to effectively counter someone using terrain exploits in a bg: Ignore them. That is the single most effective technique.
It is also the technique least likely to be employed.

If someone is casting from a roof or otherwise inaccessible elevated position, then sure, there's a few ways you can kill them. Death grip is
the obvious one. Rogues can get up on elevated areas through shadowstrike/shadowstep. A number of ranged players can focus an individual
down, sometimes even stun locking them so they can't get out of los. What you can't do, is do that quickly, every class has enough defensive
cooldowns to last a decent amount of time from all but the most intense burst pressure.

What invariably happens is the whole enemy team and begins blowing every cooldown imaginable trying to kill the exploiter. This is the worst
possible thing to do. You have the rest of the exploiter's team to worry about, you have game objectives, all of these get forgotten. Powerful as
terrain exploits can be, what really causes the enemy team to lose is the exploit putting the enemy team on tilt, not the advantage the
method itself gives you.

Now, if the enemy team ignores the exploiter and focuses on a healer or goes to another base or whatever, then your advantage is
nullified. You either have to give up your advantage and go where the fighting is, or stay where you are and risk letting your team be
undermanned elsewhere.

There's an additional problem with death grip. Sure you can pull me down from the roof. I'm not dead. If I'm say on the waterworks roof in
Battle of Gilneas then the DK pulls me down, I use knockback, the DK is now in the river-ghost wolf, escape, jump back onto roof. The
DK just lost his gap closer and is now moving at walking speed - he's toast for any other ranged allies.
