Wondering the same... I've done that though a while ago, before this was posted and it didnt' seem to work, NPCscan never went off... wasted like 30 carts.Where am I supposed to use these? Do I fly to one spot and use it or go to every possible spot (spawn point) and use cart?
Is there perhaps any minimal range, like you have to be 10-20-30 yards max from the figure or am I missing something else.

Thank you Dot! didn't see that part. now to see how this goes
NPCscan does NOT recognize the statues anymore. Neither did Silverdragon.
My NPCscan didn't find the figurine and I was right next to it!
To CRZ and peerblock: I'm working on a guide to this right now! With pictures and a lot of explanation for people that are completely new to such exploits!
So the only way is:
1. fly to spawn,
2. use cart,
3. look arround and SEARCH for figurine...
That's sooo time consuming :S

Yes, yes it is... and it also consumes a lot of Noodle Carts
But in my opinion it was worth thousands of gold because I'm an achievement hunter and a mount farmer ^^
Edit: I added a link to my Peerblock guide in the main post
Also, do you think, that the first figurine you will find is the actual "mount" figurine?
I guess yes, just because you are on CRZ realm (dead) and "real" figurine was never triggered before or?
EDIT: Found one figurine, was dust only...

Well it did for me a few weeks ago. I will test it tonight to make sure, but a couple of questions first.
Did you manually enter the ID's into NPCscaner? They are not baked in by default.
Also did you clear your cache? It will blow up for ID that you have not 'seen',but if you have 'seen' an ID it will be stored in your cache regardless of if you had NPC scanner installed.
Not that it really matters anyhow unless you want to sell it. If I am understanding this correctly you need to use a noodle cart to even see the items in the locations.
2 days ago I've found one, but now i'm trying from diff IP's and already spent like 300 carts => no more figurines :SS:S:S

So lets say NPCscan does work, why wouldn't you remove 50410 (grey item) and just keep 50409 so you will always trigger the right camel? You can easily clear npcscan's cache so it shouldn't be a problem just resetting every time.
That's a a very good point. I think people were using both to catalog the spawn points originally, which is pretty much complete now.
Edit:
I tired looking for a camel, could find one to test NCP scanner on it. But I think I have a solution
1. Find Mysterious Camel Figurine
2. Shift+V to bring up friendly name plates
3. Target Mysterious Camel Figurine
4. Type: /run local guid, name = UnitGUID("target"), UnitName("target"); print(name .. "'s NPC id is " .. tonumber(guid:sub(6,10), 16))
and hopefully it should spit out the NCP ID in the text box.
Again, if NPCscan does work (which worked for me about a month ago), you can also take a flight path from Tanaris (with uldum being crz) which will cover a good portion of nodes that you can eliminate, hence saving a bunch of carts.
