Transmog dungeon drops - transmog them then trade them back!

I discovered this accidentally a few minutes ago. And it's rather simple.

1. Have someone with the mog you want.
2. Run a dungeon with them. Get your item to drop. Has to be rare or epic and the mog must be equippable by both people.
3. Have them take the drop, equip it, and transmogrify it.
4. Have them trade it back without unequipping it. In the trade window it WILL NOT show the transmog and will say 0/0 durability. You keep the look! If you're across servers, just leave the dungeon and queue up again or port back in.

I have not tested, but it may be possible to have a level 85 run you through and transmogrify the item into one of his items prior to trading back, as long as the item has no level requirement.

Pretty sure it's BoP after you've transmogged it? I can't test it though.

Mogging should strip everything and make it bound to you, so I don't think this is working as intended.

Mogging is supposed to bind the item to you the moment you mog it.

Can you describe the whole "exploit" in details please? I tried this and did not work as you described or from the videos. Trolling with us, or are there something you aint telling us?

I've tried several times. I'm not one of those nabs that doesn't even know what Transmog stands for. I've watched both of the movies, read the description and done the exact same thing myself ingame. It doesn't work for me.

As far as we know does it still only work within the regular transmog constraints? In terms of player must be able to equip both items otherwise

Didnt work with me either, tried to transmog the sword from the last boss in RFC into an epic, didnt work, tried to transmog shoulders from forge of souls into epic 60 shoulders, and it didnt work, still tradeable but its not retaining transmog after we had traded, anyone have any other ideas?


We got the item drop in instance, person to do the transmog needed on item, went and transmogged while the other player stayed in the instance, person with item returned to instance AFTER transmogging, traded and the person receiving the item equipped, and it did not retain transmog.


Im wondering if it has to do with you already having the exact same transmogged item equipped as the item youre receiving?

To all the people saying its not working: it's probably because the item is not equipable by accepting class or the transmog item has a lvl req that accepting player is below

I haven't tried this.. but I am guessing it's same restrictions as mogging BoAs in the mail... the item used for transmog cannot have restrictions that would prevent the other player from wearing it.. these restrictions include: requires level, required race/class/etc... This however DOES work on quest items that have no explicit required level, even though the quest may not be obtainable to the lower level character. and btw.. Hi, Thirk!!
