[ToC] Get a free shard as warlock before Anu'barak

Background: toC 25 heroic (or normal) could be very demanding instances in terms of shard, particularly in case several consecutives wipes

Before starting the event of floor collapse (before Anu'barak), you can have a free soul shard:

1) If you have no pet summoned, jump to 3)
2) if you have void/felguard/felhunter/succubus, stop the pet close to the wall of instance and run to the other side, you should dismiss the pet and get 1 shard back
3) Summon the imp
4) start the event, floor collapse
5) Get a free shard

6) Profit :P

If I understand this correctly - if the event unsummons your demon, you gain a Shard even if it was a imp. Correct?

This isn't an exploit. Pets are auto-unsummoned if they get too far away from you (which is what this particular thread is attempting to do). If you have an Imp summoned, you don't get a shard for it disappearing, unless they have changed something very recently.

Which is why I was asking for clarification.
Could be that the event script un-summons any summoned demons and gives the summoning warlock a shard to avoid pets being bugged from the fall.

Yes correct, the fall gives you a free shard whatever demon you have, imp included.

Kudos if it gives you a shard even if you only have an Imp out, but I don't see it being terribly useful. There are non-aggressive scarabs in Anub'arak's room that you can ask people to slow as you drain soul them for shards, instead.

Actually thats bogus..if you have an imp summoned IT DOES NOT WORK. Screen shot it or your lieing. This is not an xploit this *shard return* is working as intended.

Could just step outside of instance with your tank, and soul drain him/her a couple of times. Get soul shards that way. Much easier and how many times does a lock just want only 1 shard rather than a couple?
