Hi there !
You're about to discover a new exploit; one that has existed for a long time but surprisingly had never been found before.
I think most of you know of [Navuud's Concoction - Item - World of Warcraft].
For those who don't, it's a quest item that gives you a buff. When you have this buff, you have a 25% chance to proc electrical surges on every attack you make, whether it be spell, special, or auto (Electro-Shock Therapy - Spell - World of Warcraft). They don't deal any damage and are often just used for awesome factor.
But here's the amazing part you don't know of yet.
These surges are absorbed by :
-Shaman's [Grounding Totem] ,
-Warrior's [Spell Reflect]
-PvE Mobs, Elites and Bosses [Spell Reflect]
-Other abilities that trigger when caster recieves a spell
TLDR
(the shaman one is what actually happened when I discovered the exploit)
You are dueling a Shaman and have Navuud's Concoction's buff on.
1. Shaman lays down a Grounding
2. Attack the Shaman -> Electro-Shock from [Navuud's] procs.
3. Instead of landing on the Shaman, it lands on Grounding Totem and destroys it, leaving you free to cast any spell !
You are dueling a Warrior and have Navuud's Concoction's buff on.
1. Warrior uses Spell Reflect
2. Attack the Warrior -> Electro-Shock from [Navuud's] procs.
3. Spell Reflect is wasted; unleash your spell !
You are in a PvE setting against a mob/elite/boss who has a one-spell reflector, and have Navuud's on.
1. PvE Enemy activates reflector
2. Attack the enemy -> Electro-Shock from [Navuud's] procs.
3. Spell Reflect is wasted... again !

You can see the surges being absorbed by grounding at 0:17, 0:32 and 0:48

You are correct, most of the times for your class (warlock) you'll try to stay at reasonable range from the shaman and will be better off using your pet, wand or a fodder spell.
There are still (albeit infrequent) cases where you will melee the shaman though, where this can come in handy. (keep in mind you can't always melee the totem, if the shaman places it conveniently.)
However other classes use spells on a permanent basis in addition to melee :
-Death Knights,
-Ret Pallies,
-Shamans themselves.
-Warriors and Rogues who are Engineers. (8/04 : Hunters too)
If you were to destroy the totem the 'normal' way, you'd have to :
-Move to the totem, melee it, go back to the shaman. this obviously costs you time (during which you can be cc'd or damaged) and dps, and is sometimes just impratical because the totem is placed in such a way that it it pointless to melee it.
-Cast a spell (you can do this accidentally), which costs you mana, GCD, damage, and potentially cooldown.
Or you can use [Navuud's Concoction] to destroy Grounding Totem without wasting any :
-Time,
-Mana,
-DPS,
-Global cooldowns.
Not to mention the WTF factor of it (if someone asks you about this buff, keep them guessing :>)
How this helps should be clear by now
UPDATE #3 : Increase proc rate of Electro-Shock! (up to 99%)
1) Go to our favorite NPC,
Researcher Navuud - NPC - World of Warcraft
2) Drink your Navuud. You now have 1 buff.
3) Abandon quest, retake quest
4) Drink your newly created Navuud. You now have 2 buffs !
Rinse and repeat until you have your desired number of buffs.
Note that 4 buffs will not give you a 100% proc rate. Here's the proc chance (1 is 100%) based on the number of concoctions you take :
As you can see, 6 or 7 should do the job.

Posting this exploit on MMOwned means it will probably get patched in the near future, even if it cannot be used in Arena PvP. (Use this quick, before it gets fixed !)
