I was just wasting some time in Shattrath when I decided to try out an old bug. A few patches back, you could run outside of Shatt and summon as many of the same mini-pet as you wanted, through an alternate body (pet, summon, pots- etc.). However, Blizzard patched that a few weeks after it went public.
When I tried out the old "bug," not expecting it to work, I was surprised to see that, despite the nerf, it was still somewhat-working. However, it is differently done than previously. This is not client-side, I've had several people question how I had so many pets out, after doing this.
In order to achieve multiple pets, you must be either a warlock (Eye of Kilrogg), a Hunter (Eyes of the Beast), or one of those pots to give you a similar effect.
Start outside of Aldor Bank, just on the crack. Summon a minipet, then begin your eyes of the beast, or similar cast.
Run through the middle of Shatt (as the pet), underneath the Naaru guy. Keep going until you reach Scryer bank. After that point, turn left and head up the ramp outside of Shatt. This is where it is different than the previous bug.
Continue until you get the "Terrokar Forest" message, by following the road. Right when you get the message, summon a DIFFERENT, rather than the same, mini-pet. Your eyes effect will end and bring you back.
After this point, it will appear as though the bug didn't work. Simply summon your hunter's pet back and you will have two mini-pets. This can be repeated as many times as you can, until you run out of pets. Unfortunately, you can not use the same pet twice (as far as I was able to do, at least.)
I am not sure of the final portion through the other classes, as I haven't had the chance to try them out. For my hunter, I was able to get 12 pets out, but it took about 25 minutes to do it all. Unfortunately, the pets stand inside one another (except for the occasional Sleepy Willy, Egburt, or lagging pet), rather than circle you.
Also, if you try doing this with a Clockwork Rocket Bot, it sometimes removes your last summoned pet, but keeps the other. I recommend just opening with that pet and continuing with the others.
Here are some pictures outlining exactly what to do. They're through Imageshack, so I apologize for the ads.
These first two show where to stand and the path to follow:
This one is the ramp you should be following to the end, followed by the approximate ending area:
After you finish the route and summon a pet, you should end with two pets, like this:
And this is how you can end up after doing the same thing several times:
Note:
I did a search for posts similar to this, only found the old-version of this, which no longer works in the same way. Trying to help this forum out a bit and get out of the dreaded leecher status :P
Hope I help someone who may not have known this
