[Exploit] 2 characters on the same realm with the same name

Hey guys. This is a exploit for how to have 2 characters on the same realm with the same name.

Brief Summary

Alright. Well, a few months ago my account got hacked. Everything was deleted, and all my characters were gone. I quickly spoke to blizzard, and they restored all my characters and items in about a week. But, the thing is, when my characters were deleted, the guy who hacked my account made a character with my same name on the same realm. The thing is, after my account was restored, the hacker's character was not deleted! So, there were 2 characters on the same realm with the same name.

How to do it

Well, it is pretty easy to do.
1. Delete all your characters on your account.
2. Notify blizzard that you got hacked, and tell them that when you were in the bathroom, your friend deleted all your stuff or something along those lines.
3. While your character is deleted, on a separate account, make a character with the same name as your main!
4. Blizzard will take about 3-7 days to restore your account. When they do, you will have all your stuff back and 2 characters on the same realm with the same name!

Want proof?

In case you don't believe me, I will give you some proof.
First, go to The World of Warcraft Armory and search "Drunkencow"
I am the level 70 warrior on Gilneas.
Now, when you click on my name, you will be redirected to a page with a level 11 paladin named Drunkencow. This is the hacker's character.
Also, on the search list, you will see another Drunkencow, level 11 paladin.

So there you have it; how to have 2 characters on the same realm with the same name.

No doubt this works, but why would you waste a restore on having 2 chars with the same name?

It IS an exploit, even if you don't see any use for it ... This is a very good exploit, maybe somebody comes up with an idea to abuse this

Well, an idea I has is to dupe items or gold. I was thinking that when I send stuff to my character from my alts, that maybe a second copy of that mail goes to the other character. Of course I haven't been able to check it out because I don't have access to the hacker's account.

somone should test if the items dupe that would make this a very very good exploit

I will tell you now that this does NOT work.

Recently I was testing to see if I could get a free name change by deleting my character and creating a character with the same name on a separate account.

My character was restored, but with the exact same name. When I checked the other account, my character name had "xyz" added to the end and upon attempting to log in the character name was flagged for rename.

What happened was that the hacker never tried to log in to the character using your name, which has been slightly changed and has been flagged for rename. Because he never logged in, that character's on the armory with the same name as your toon, but in reality it's name was changed by the GM.

No, I talked to the hacker while he was on the other account with the Drunkencow name on it. I don't know what happened there flail, but I assure you when this happened to me it worked.

Maybe that I can't enter your 70lev armory character profile.
Wherever I click, 70lev or this 11lev, I always got into your 11lev paladin.
