Easy way to skill up weapons... and a little discrete

Ok, I found this NPC "Servant of Grol", same as the others servants (invincible, part of the quest...)

Now why do I like this NPC?

Because he goes in and out of a small cave in the Blasted Lands (48, 45) with a bunch of ogres around.

Hit him or agro him, get in that cave to the far back, and start hitting him away. You're in a cave so it's discrete, you're not in the open. Chances are better that you won't get ganked. There is an ore here, so you might get the occasional miner.

I spent a good full 4 or so hours, afked out doing this to get all my skills up to 350. I just check every 5-10 minutes or so and heal my pet (I'm a hunter). Also, changed my gear for more INT and drank an INT potion to help speed up the skilling.

Yeah that guy is still part of the same quest as the other guy, I believe. So he operates the same way. =)

And FOUR HOURS? It took me 10 minutes to get fairly high. What the hell?

At the higher skill levels it gets progresslely more difficult to gain a level in a weapon. 1-100 no problem, but 200-300 takes TIME.

Eh, maybe it's different for a hunter. I got 200-300 VERY fast. Probably 10 minutes or less.

Last time I checked weapon skillups like this aren't against any game rule, and thus there is no need to hide it.

+Int doesen't have an effect on learning weponskill anymore, anyway, nice tip.
