Possible Exploit. Banned account.

I recently downloaded the wotlk alpha, from boredom, and i try logging in with my banned wow account. It was recently banned in the ban wave and i still try it sometimes. I was surprised when i could login, i couldnt see realms or anything, but the fact that i could login surprised me. This could be a possible exploit for banned accounts, im not sure, but figured i might post it.

It works because the blizzard alpha beta accounts are from when they had the PTR realms. They save all of the information and don't update it everyday... so once the next update PTR comes it probably won't work.

Not unless he has an alpha key, or is playing a private wotlk server. And if he was, his retail account wouldn't matter anyway.

And if he used a alpha key on the account... well that would be silly

So there's no way to exploit this?

This is very possible but there is no point because all accounts from blizz's DB are sitll unbanned there yet you cant see realms with out a Wotlk activation key and you got activated...

Not that I know of. Like one of the other posters said, they use the PTR logs, so next time they refresh that and notice the account is banned, he likely won't be able to login like he can now.

Plus, not much to exploit if you can only get to the login screen =/

pretty neat, but wonder when the blizzard alpha thing will actually be working you know? BUT: your account will still have to be activated for it i bet.

You can login to PTR or Alpha Server with your banned accs.
It's no exploit.
You can not see any realm cuz the alpha realm isn't online.
