How to create a custom/edited spell?

OK, so all I want is to create a new spell or edit an existing one in trinitycore. I have found no guides on how to do this through heidisql (if you even can), but have come close to editing it in a dbc editor. The problem is that the files are db2 files, not supported by the dbc editors. I do not know how to convert spell.db2 to dbc, nor do I know if i'm even going about this the right way. Can I get assisance on this?

What WoW version? Blizzard changed all DBC to DB2 in.. Legion(maybe WoD?).

Haven't done anything like this in Legion but assuming it's the same as WotLK you can use WDBX Editor as a DB2 editor. (WDBX Editor - Tools - Model Changing Network - WoW Modding Community)
