Some Servers want to extend their server with custom content, but they never could because they thought members wouldn't download the custom .MPQ's. This launcher forces them to download the .MPQ's.

But you don't have anything in this release to force them to download the launcher.

I recommend you make a real custom launcher without all the ridiculous encryption stuff and actually release it. Make it just an installer and launcher.

There is Eradicator and its rather awesome. If you cant see it then i suggest you dont bother posting. Custom patches for servers are an amazing way to keep the players interested.

And he won't be releasing it, he's keeping it for himself for his own private project(s)... this thread is just an epeen booster now.
By the way, I entirely mimiced this launcher with 10 minutes of simple coding, so if you want to have this? 3 words: Do It Yourself.

Nice logic there, Allstar. What happens if I wouldn't download the launcher and just PLAY? Even better, the only proper way of checking if the player has the correct patch is doing it serverside. It's possible, either through a hacky way that crashes the client or a proper one.
