creating your own server [Noob Friendly]

Hello everyone I have decided to become more active in these threads so here is a guide on how to make a wow private server.
-I TAKE NO CREDIT FOR THIS GUIDE IT WAS MADE BY SHOT53 OFF OF YOUTUBE-
-This is my first guide so bare with me

Ok first thing you need to do is download a few things:
1. AC Web
2.HeidiSQL - Download
3. Download Hamachi Basic, Hamachi Basic 1.0.2.2 Download
4. WinRAR archiver, a powerful tool to process RAR and ZIP files

Ok once you have download all these files you will have to go to"C:\AC Web Ultimate Repack"
Should look like this:

Once there click on "tools" then there should be two folders in there "Map Extractor enGB" and "Map Extractor enUS" Now please click on the one that is for your verison of wow.

Now please extract the one that is for your verison of wow. Once extracted there should be somethign called "ad.exe". Now please drag that into your wow folder"C:\Program Files\World of Warcraft"

Once you have draged it in your wow folder"C:\Program Files\World of Warcraft" click on it. Now there should be a window that pops up just let it run and install. Normaly this takes about 20-40mins depending on your computer. After it is done move the maps folder into your"C:\AC Web Ultimate Repack\Ascent" folder.

Now if you are the only one that is going to be playing that's all you need to do, But please read on to know how to connect. Ok now how you connect is you go to your wow folder"C:\Program Files\World of Warcraft" click on realmlist and change everything in there to"set realmlist 127.0.0.1". After you ahve changed it save and exit. Then go to your"C:\AC Web Ultimate Repack\" and click on the exe "Control Panel". Then a other window should pop up click on all four things to start your server. Please dont exit out of anything just minimzie all teh windows that pop-up.

Ok you are done congratz! Now to play just start up wow and type in admin admin as username and passwrod. Now if you would like to know how to get your server online so your freinds can play keep reading.

Ok first thing you'll have to do is make you very own hamachi network. to do this start hamachi up by click on the power button. Once it has started up click the little triangle in the right side bottom corner then a a drop donw bar should pop-up click create network. A new window now just type in any name u want your network to be and any password.

Once your network is done you will need to change your realm.config settings in" C:\AC Web Ultimate Repack\Ascent". Now once your in the folder fine realms.con file open it with notepad or wordpad. Now once you have it opened you will have to scroll all the way down till you see something like realm name. Just edit it to your needs.

Now once you have edited it save and exit. Congratz your server is now online.
If you want to know how to get your freinds to connect keep reading.

Ok for your freinds to connect first they will have to download"http://www.brothersoft.com/hamachi-basic-60411.html" and, join your network. Just give them your network name and password so that they can connect. Once theyare connected they will need to change their realmlist in "C:\Program Files\World of Warcraft" to your hamachi IP. Now to creat them an account go in-game and type. .createaccount theiraccoutnname theiraccoutnpassword thieraccountemail."ex. .Createaccount Bob password [email protected]" and press enter. Congratz your server is now done have fun!!!

Okay... seems simple enough. A newb question, though, how will this effect regular game play?

It wont really affect it at all. All you have to do to get reg. game play bakc is change the realmlist back to normal

i've had my server for a while now but now every time i try to log on i get a message that says
Unable to validate game version. This may be caused by file corruption or the interference of another program.
i don't know what i should do. i've tried to reinstall the server and run the WoW repair and neither of them worked.:confused:

i change the realmlist.wtf file back to the way it originally is, but when i try to log into wow, it sits at authenticating, and if i cancel and do it again, it doesn't even have words, its just a box with the cancel button

this usually means u dont have version 2.3
