    I am trying this on a Trinity Core repack version 3.3.5(12340). I have checked and checked again, all my settings and everything is as it should be. When I start my game I type in my name and password and it says Login Server Down.

    Any ideas?

    Edit...

    If I change my realmlist to my servers internal ip (192.168.1.100) I can get to the realm selection screen but I am still unable to log in.

    Hi. Played wow private servers for a long wile and i always got the dream to have one own server one day.

    Ive done all that you say you need to do and fix... ports and so on... but i get a error when i start my "worldserver"

    ill link it up;
    2010-12-28 12:57:43 ERROR: Map file 'D:\Patrik Wow Server\PDS-4TC_v5a\Data/maps/0004331.map': does not exist!
    2010-12-28 12:57:43 ERROR: Correct *.map files not found in path 'D:\Patrik Wow Server\PDS-4TC_v5a\Data/maps' or *.vmtree/*.vmtile files in 'D:\Patrik Wow Server\PDS-4TC_v5a\Data/vmaps'. Please place *.map/*.vmtree/*.vmtile files in appropriate directories or correct the DataDir value in the worldserver.conf file.

    i made an map whit the name data, i used the vmap extractor in the wow folders... and put the vmap in the data map i made. but still ive got the problem that i cant run the world. is it becuse its an old vmap extractor or? send an new one if there is one new.
    and i know this is kinda old this topic but i hope someone knows thanks...

    i hope for an answer as soon as possible, thanks

    Raggie

    I am using a seperate pc on my lan for the server.

    If I use my dyndns address in the realm table address I cant connect to the server from my lan (this is any pc on my lan including the server pc itself). If I change the realm table AND my wow realmlist to 192.168.1.102 Then I am able to log into the server from my network.... but I am sure this setting will not allow anyone outside my network to connect.

    How can I set up a server so I can play from inside and outside my network?

    Your post should be posted in the topic that you got your repack from.
    You changed your directory to your D drive... did you change your config files to match your new directory?

    2 things I had to do different from the guide to get my latest trinity build working online...

    I had to set my host file like so:
    127.0.0.1 localhost
    192.168.1.68 mydns.com
    192.168.1.1 mydns.com
    2##.2##.1##.2## mydns.com

    I also had to use my external ip in the database auth/realm setting rather than mydns.com

    Thanks for the guide. I made a new server and was having problems making it public. The main problem I had that no one else explained was changing the port numbers in the realm.config and world.config files. Thanks again.

    Very nice guide, but I'm not getting further than "logging into game server". I've followed your guide EXACTLY! I have no firewall running, ports are opened, configs edited after your guide etc. If you could please contact me on a PM or anything, I would greatly apreciate your help.

    Hosts file:

    Code:
    127.0.0.1 worldofazeroth.dyndns.org
    192.168.0.84 worldofazeroth.dyndns.org
    192.168.0.4 worldofazeroth.dyndns.org
    80.202.152.9 worldofazeroth.dyndns.org
    World config file:

    Code:
    LoginDatabaseInfo = "127.0.0.1;3306;root;ascent;realmd"
    WorldDatabaseInfo = "127.0.0.1;3306;root;ascent;mangos"
    # Default WorldServerPort
    WorldServerPort = 8050
    Realm config file:

    Code:
    # Default RealmServerPort
    RealmServerPort = 3724

    Sincerly,
    - Fdfcool
