Hey guys

I've just used this repack to setup a quick server. Got to say I didn't think it would be this easy, with so little bugs. Back in the day you used to have to set up everything for hours! heh

Anyway, although the server works, i'm getting a 'few' errors. and was wondering if anyone els has had the same, or knows how to get rid of them / fix it.

Any help would be much appreciated, I've tried making a txt document called server.log and putting it in the WoW folder but i keep getting this error -.-

Basically I get an error box every 2 seconds, for ever. So I have a desktop full of errors, saying - Cannot open file " C:\Program Files (x86)\World of Warcraft\server.log.check", The system cannot find the file specified. error from mangos restarter

I have a problem that when I set the server up for public it works for clients on the web and on my lan, however when i try to connect from the server itself i can log in but the realms list just loops.

it happens both when i point the local client to the local ip and to the external ip.

if i change the ip in sql back to the local ip I can connect from the server but not the web.

Any ideas?

I just have to say, I'm not completely illiterate when it comes down to programming, but I was having a bit of a problem getting a server update to stick, this here just took that problem and ripped it a new one, thanks a ton man, you made it so much easier for those ... less motivated souls... good work man

Well, I tried to connect to the database using the SQLyog that you linked, and when I typed in the proper information given I am getting an error saying:
Error No. 2003
Can't connect to MySQL server on 'localhost' (10065)

I'm only having one problem, everything else works flawlessly.

Every creature in the game is neutral to me (npcs, dungeon creatures, bosses....ect). The name above their heads is yellow instead of red. Whenever I try to attack something it just sits there takes some damage and then regens health back upto 100%? Anyone know whats going on?

Noomi it is because you have your gm tag on if you turn it off all of the creatures that are supposed to be red will be. I was wondering the same thing but seemed to resolve by doing that.

I had trouble getting my server public for quite some time, but I finally got it working. I have it running on hamachi and my brother got connected. What I am wondering is how to delete or change the account name: 3 password: 3 because he can log into it and I don't want anyone coming on my server and typing that in and get free admin.

To learn these you must at least have GM level set on your account, enough that you can modify your skills and lookup spells, then type:
.lookup spell <nameofskillhere>
then do
.learn spell <spellID>
They're labeled as spells, and they come at a default level of 1, so if you want to give yourself some skill in that as well, you would do:
.setskill <skillID> <Level> <LevelMax>

For example, to get Engineering up to level 254, which is also under the rank 4 setting(Artisan):
.lookup spell Engineering <-Looks up all learnable instances of Engineering
System: 4036 - [Engineering, rank 1] <-This is the listing of all learnings
System: 4037 - [Engineering, rank 2]
System: 4038 - [Engineering, rank 3]
System: 12656 - [Engineering, rank 4] <-Brings our max skill level to 300, which is above what our target was, so lets get up to this.
So now, do this:
.learn 4036
.learn 4037
.learn 4038
.learn 12656
Now our skill has a cap at 300, but our skill is still way down at 1! Here's how to solve that:
.lookup skill Engineering
System: 202 - [Engineering] [known] <-The skill ID is 202 (And yeah we know this skill)
So now we want it to go up to our target of 254 and the max is 300, so type this:
.setskill 202 254 300 <-Set the skill(Eng) to 254 of 300
You will find your skills have increased dramatically! You won't learn any new recipes except the defaults here, so go speak with a craft trainer and get going
on making yourself some goodies! You can also set this to whatever level you want, the 254 was just an example marker.

Edit: Almost forgot, just wondering how you shut the server down occasionally without losing character data, I accidentally wiped my trial stuff off after a night of experimenting lol
