The best thing it's to have a domain name, you can use a free domain name for dinamic ip address as no-ip, then use the batch file provided to set ip your external ip address (you can set here the no-ip domain name)
Then in realmlist whenever you connect from lan or throught internet you must set "set realmlist DOMAINNAME".
In your lan enviorment you need to edit hosts file in windows c:\windows\system32\drivers\etc and set:
Hi! I've tried to make my server public for a couple of friends, but when I try to configure it with heidisql, I get an SQL error 1045 access denied for user 'root'@'localhost'.
It seems my root password is incorrect.
I have never used any mySQL before this, so I don't know when I possibly could have set a password? Any help would have been appreciated. Thank you

Want to say that this is my first try at running a classic wow server for my local LAN it was an easy setup and runs smooth , so thank you for building this, I am new to the GM commands and have used the web site included to add an account , but I am unable to get the gm command to elevate this new account to level 6 . I am typing .account set gmlevel name 6 but I keep getting "There is no such subcommand Command have subcommands: addon, locked" .. Not sure what im doing wrong . I have even tried to create an account with the ingame commands and it gives the same syntax error. I have made sure gm is set to on have tried with all three of the default toons that came with the admin account. So any help would be appreciated

You must type it in the mangosd console, not in the game.
I downloaded and set everything up. Ran everything and got in game just fine. Once I got off I returned later and tried to start up things again. I started Start MySQL.bat. That worked just fine, But when I tried to run realmd and magnosd I was getting errors saying ACE.dll, libmysql.dll, LIBEAY32.dll was not designed to work on windows or contains errors. Try installing again.
So just incase I installed everything again. I started everything up again and it worked just fine. Later on I went offline and later returned and the same thing happened again with the same error messages. It seems like after I go offline the first time something happens to where I can't start up realmd.exe and magnosd.exe again. Anyone know a fix for this?
