People starting to confuse Blizzard with Activision Blizzard
-
I don't want to sound negative but this really is beating a dead horse...
We've been over this before since TBC first came out! Blizzard simply will not allow more than a single version of their MMO.
On the positive side this thread sure has brought us some lively debating!

Even though the petition might not do anything it will atleast give us some sort of an idea of people willing to pay for legacy servers. To everyone who took the time out to sign, thank you. It's better then doing nothing.

This thread is the physical manifestation of <insert something aweful that could be offensive>.

Nostalrius Team is really coming forward, which has not ever been the case.
Previous private server, which were closed down by blizzard, had always the **** blizzard politic.
Nostalrius has presence, Reddit AMA, Sodapoppin etc. and wants to find a solution. We may not get what we want, but atleast there will probably be more to it.

A petition will save the day.

You mean like how there's been "more to it" / a solution to a 300+ day wait from the last tier of the expansion to the next? Which has been a problem since Halion.

Never played on Nostalrius, but I'm definitely rooting for them. **** Blizzard and the shitty laws that allow them to do this - why anyone can be prosecuted for creating their own software from scratch, to provide services for a state of game which has not been running for ~10 years is beyond me.
And if you're all wondering where the influx of signatures seem to be coming from in the last day or so - a pretty popular YouTuber by the name of JonTron has expressed his dismay in a video and has even included a link to the petition, despite having much relevance at all to his channel. It's almost reached 500k views after just 9 hours, so props to him for voicing his opinion. If the petition continues to gain traction like this, who knows what'll happen.

I'm fairly sure blizzard already knows people cared about the server, since it had a million active players or whatever it was. But hopefully nost comes back up, fingers crossed.
I don't have a skype account. Contact me through pms or through discord.

This is very sad. I hope someone takes the source code and hosts another Nostalrius in a country where Blizzard can't shut them down. US copyright law is not the word of god, it doesn't apply worldwide.
