Hboybowen is installing a Microsoft SQL database instead of a MYSQL database. Most servers only support PostgreSQL, MYSQL and SQLlite. MYSQL is the most stable sql database provider, and I'm not sure if there is any support for Microsoft SQL

Ehhhh I never really liked MSSQL, its ok to have support for it in a .NET emulator though since you don't even need remote libraries, but I couldn't see any major servers running on MSSQL. I've always prefered Oracle, MySQL, and PostgreSQL :P

    Oracle ftw

you should use MySQL since it is the most used, stable and most supported (in emulating)

MSSQL is really stable if you have the hardware to scale that stability.

Unfortunately, the only emulator that naively supports it is WCell. If you are well versed in C++, write database backend support for it for either Arc or MaNGOS
