i need some help guys its been while snice i've made a priv server so toss lil info this way

Ascent is an emulator for world of warcraft. It currently supports clients 2.4.2. The most blizzlike database for it at the current time is Ascent Blizzlike Database (ADB). Since the current problems and attacks at Burlex he has closed Ascent however OpenAscent lives on.

Basically Burlex the creator of Ascent was getting attacked by people who didn't like him or something, hes finally had enough so hes closed Ascent, however a community base Ascent has opened called OpenAscent. Just means more updates and a different SVN address.

well basically ascent is an "emulator" to run a wow private server. basically, you have 2 things-ascent and the databases it connects to. you have to make the databases (usually done with mysql), from premade sql files (just like ascent blizzlike db above). you can also edit these to have custom items, mobs, etc. then ascent connects to this database and hosts the server. then the wow client connects to ascent, wich is how a private server runs in a nutshell.
