Since hardcoding values is an ugly thing i was wondering how WoW stores the data for the artifacts of Legion.
There are a couple of db2 files which have artifact in its name but the meaning of the other fields except the artifact name mostly elude me.
Different classes and diffrent specs can use the same relic but a different ability is improved.
How would you link a certain relic to the traits/spells it improves?
Are the actual itemlevel,+rank values,and traits constructed in the bonus value or stored elsewhere?
Where is the relictype hidden? I so far can tell it is officially a gem and the usual things like id and level, but not if it is a storm or frost relic

Relics are just plain gems, using the same mechanics (enchantments), like this
