    Is Honorbuddy Compromised?

There's quite a lot of posts on the HB forums saying that they've used the bot for hours to a week at most and their account has been banned, even accounts completely unlinked to former botting accounts. There's been no response from the developers and quite a lot of people there are saying that the bot is compromised.

    What do you guys think?

Yes, it is total garbage nowadays.

Playing a game for the graphics is like watching porn for the storyline.

Lol. That's what they said, yeah, but same last time. And the time prior to that.
Blizzard are just holding off with bans after all the waves, and banning in waves again after a while. I'm never touching HB again, atleast not on an account that I hold just a tiny care for.

It's all speculations, but I think Blizzard has them where they want them, and I think Blizzard has a couple of big red buttons, that they press every other month for new banwaves.

I've had two bannings since detection. One Was hit after a week, the other 3 days.

I'm not trolling - there's no reason fro me to lie. This is just my personal exerperience. This was just leveling and doing some herbing.

The sad truth is, that Blizz dramatically changed their attitude towards the automation in the last 2 years.

Their tolerance have touched the floor! And their obvious target is the most popular and widespread botting solution for WoW - Honorbuddy!

The posts you mention on thebuddyforum are result of multiple recent actions of Blizzard.

First they made exactly 3 detection banwaves in 3 months time span - 10th and 20th of Nov then 1st of Feb 2017.

And just 3 days later, on 4th of Feb they initiated this so-called banwave by association - aka they obviously batch banned thousands of accounts, which were not detected for botting, but was blatantly flagged by different ban-criteria, which are like player reports, botting behavior on recently banned account or computer, or god knows what, since quite a few never-botting accounts or computers. The last one proves one thing - that Blizz do not care, even if they ban accounts, not associated with botting in any way.

Keep in mind, other bot vendors were hit the similar way in the last 2 years too. All public 3rd party tools for WoW had their banwaves. At least Blizzard do not close accounts for botting nowadays, they usually ban for 6 months first, then 18 months as second offense (I heard 3rd is 60 months, so beware :P)

So the current situation with botting in WoW is quite hazardous for accounts we care about, no matter what!

For what my words worth, i wouldnt touch it if you're anything but a suicide botter.

I've used it for years, my join date for their new forum is 2010 irc and i never had a problem until recently (i used pirox before that, which was closed down) in the past few months i've been suspened 3 times. My main got hit, then an account a couple of weeks later. Stupidly i thought well maybe it'll be a bit safer then i got hit in the feb 1st one aswell.

The way i see it is hb now is just living on working when bans happen, fixing (or not) the detection then coasting along till the next wave hits. Judging by the past few bans, there will more than likely one before the next unban which is in may.

4 accounts banned, don't touch. HB is going under for sure. They are losing money from their users leaving and they had to revoke all the lifetime keys they sold to original members who joined them from the start in 2010. I lost 4 keys to them and 4 accounts. STAY FAR AWAY FROM THEM.

Youre doing something wrong if you get banned fast. I literally have two accounts running 24/7 suicide botting because I know theyll get banned in a banwave. Theyve been running over a month. I just bought new gametime. The second you start it up on any account, dont be surprised when its banned in the next banwave. Just because they havent banned you yet, doesnt mean they never will.

I don't care what bot it is, you WILL get banned eventually. Detection methods for botting, even out of process behavioral analysis are getting incredibly sophisticated. Before, it was impractical to do large-scale monitoring of player behaviors behind the scenes, server side, but server tech has come a long way over the last decade and the processing horsepower is enormous now. This allows them to be more proactive about detection methods on a large scale.

HB already has some tells. It also will depend on what profiles you are using. But, I don't care if you are using a less-known and small scale bot vs HB, you will eventually get noticed. Accept this as reality. Don't bot on an account you don't want to lose. Botting can be a lot of fun, just do it on an account you won't be sad when it is gone forever.

Honorbuddy is no longer suitable for commercial botting. Even burner accounts don't survive long enough to achieve a positive return on investment.
Honorbuddy is no longer suitable for casual botting. It doesn't matter if you only use HB only for questing, combat routines or pet battles - you will get "caught".
Honorbuddy is dead. Bossland had stuffed it with air fresheners and pretends that everything is hunky-dory.

The "tripwire" is a lie - there's no tripwire, only a kill switch they toggle on/off when there are enough ban reports to assume there had just been a banwave. The "we've investigated it, there was a new detection vector, it's fixed now" tune they sing after every banwave is smoke and mirrors. Honorbuddy is detectable 100% of the time, but admitting it would require shutting it down and losing their biggest cash cow. As long as Blizzard continues their practice of doing "banwaves" instead of banning people individually the moment they launch Honorbuddy for the first time, Bossland will continue to release "updates" that do nothing but change the version string.

And if all of that is not bad enough, there's that whole thing with "lifetime" keys having been redefined to "two years" retroactively.
