Not sure if this is any help to you, but sometimes the port will be blocked successfully and eventually the game will reconnect to battle.net after a minute or so. The desktop battle.net seems to be able to be blocked still, but the new server stuff they changed for WoW seems to allow it to reconnect.

Updated my post above yours to mention that. Thank you for the info and testing things.

Yeah am experiencing the same issues with the aforementioned ports - Desktop app appears to still be affected, but in-game there is nothing. They're not talking about this over on the forums, the devs aren't, and it wasn't in the patch notes. So seems like if what is being said here about the speculation that they're trying to patch it is correct, they're trying to silently disable this from being possible?

Yes, I have disabled successfully disabled my in game chat for only 2-3 minutes before somehow it's turned on again. Either they built in a few proxy tools or can bypass port blocks. I'll get this, I refuse to give up

Note: this method no longer works as of patch 6.2.4.21348.
