ChatCraft - WoW HTTP Chat Server

    APPLICATION: ChatCraft v0.9.1
    STATUS: 1.0 VERSION

    RELEASE HISTORY:
    v1.0.0:
    - Removed HTML errors

    v0.9.1.:
    - Bug fixed: Unknown channels triggered an alarm.
    - Wish added: Show all process ID's. Some people rename their WoW windows. Choose the pID on own risk.

    NOTE:
This project has only been tested on the ENGLISH version of WoW! If you encounter any bugs, issues, or you have a wish, please leave a message in this thread. All help is welcome!

    DOWNLOAD/VIRUSCHECK
Since there is an HTTP server included in the download package, you might get a protective message from your antivirus programme.
Malware scan: ChatCraft - Jotti's malware scan
DOWNLOAD VERSION FOR WoW 5.4. https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/...aft%20v091.zip

    ABOUT:
ChatCraft starts an HTTP server on your computer which can be linked to any open instance of World of Warcraft. All chat messages will be published on the HTTP Server. Logging onto the HTTP server will enable users to read the chat messages and also write messages back to the WoW client. Users can access the HTTP server from their own network, or simply make the server available externally. Users can also set 3 types of alarms to be triggered when something is written in a specific chat channel or when a random chatmessage contains a predefined wildcard text value. Alarms are: Sound, SMS or Pushmessage.
The tool uses an external settings.ini file that contains some general settings and also the memory offsets needed. When a new version of WoW is introduced, the only thing needed is to update the ini-file with the latest offsets.

    TO BE USED BY:
    Target audience is:
    - Botters that want to reply to whispers and other chatevents to keep their accounts more safe. From home or from work, what way the like.
    - People who like to record their chat messages and view them back later

    INSTALLATION:
    1) Download the file and unpack its contents into a desired directory. Do not change any content, this might !@#$ up the installation.
    2) Like said in the security part of this post: rename the executable to a non-WoW-affiliate name.

    REQUIREMENTS:
    • WoW 32 bits
    • PC with windows
    • .NET NOT needed!
    • Old versions of IE might not work.
    • If you want to use the real-time notification service you will need to download the pushover.net app from Google Play or App Store. It has a very small fee (< 4$). You pay for the app, the service is free. Of course you will also need an Android/Apple device
    • An SMS Service provider that uses HTTP posting if you want to use the SMS Service

    HOW IT WORKS:
    1) Start up WoW 32bit and log in
    2) Start up ChatCraft
    3) Choose the WoW process (if you don't see any, you might have started the 64 bit version, it's 32 bit only)
    4) Choose the IP address you want to use
    5) Choose the port you want to use
    6) Go to the settings menu
    7) Choose the alarms you wish to set. Everytime a chatmessage appears in that channel, the sound/pushovermessage/sms service will be triggered.
8 ) Enter lines in the triggerlist to trigger on. For example your username is "monsterboy", If you fill in "monster" the alarm will be triggered when this word is use in any channel
    9) Don't change the memory offsets if they are up to date
    10) Fill the pushover/SMS settings if you wish to use these services
    11) Save and exit
    12) Press the large "Start" button. The server will start. Click the URL below the start button to open the server in your default browser.

When sending messages through the webclient, make sure you send messages this way:
    /g hello all
    /whisper pandayboy hello
    /r hi

You can also clear the chatmessages, shutdown the application or refresh the message list

    SECURITY:
    • At random time intervals, between 10 and 60 minutes, the application caption will be renamed
    • Make sure to rename the executable to a non-WoW-affiliate name.
    • The application reads the memory from the WoW process and does NOT write any values into it. The application does however copy/paste messages to the wow client using keystrokes when using the chat function on the HTML page.

Awesome, does this require a specific port in order to work?

Since it uses an HTTP server people, would it be wise to go into their Skype settings to uncheck Use port 80 and 443 as alternatives for incoming connections? If they usually keep Skype running on their computer.

    Just curious.

    +rep for the effort.

I just use it on port 80, cause no other apps use that port on my pc... Well, you got 65535 possibilities to choose from, must be one thats free ;-)

You can check current port usage with the following command in dosprompt: NetStat -o

Ooh I guess I didn't see that option in the picture there. So its defaults to port 80 unless you change it.

    Makes more sense.

    Edit:
I'm going to blame that on looking at this on my phone. Details get missed due to this small screen.

The alarm seems to be triggered (even when off) when someone uses the /instance chat:

14:37:46 | ALARM TRIGGERED, CHANNEL: UNKNOWN
Other than that it works great so far.

Not working for me, no PIDs showing up in the dropdown.

Some special circumstabces about my setup that ?may? be causing issues -

    - I'm running HBRelog, which renames the windows, none of my client windows are named World of Warcraft

    - I'm usually running, and was at the time i tested, 6 bots and one 'real' client on my system. All 6 bots are 32-bit the other is 64-bit.

-I had windows firewall turned on, but tried with it off with no result.

    Hope this helps

Updated to version 1.0, fixed some small HTML problems.

Also a CALL FOR HELP here.
I can programme, but I don't know how to find memory offsets.
Is there anyone around that can give me updates on the following offsets upon new WoW-patches, I'll make a "Thanks"-section in the first post with your name on it :-)
I need: ChatBufferStart, NextMessage, MsgFormatedChat, ChatBufferPos

    Happy botting,
    RL

    Hi,

Since I don't have time anymore to update this application, nor the time to update offsets, I will donate the source to the community. Anyone interested? If so, ill publish it here in the next week.

    Thanks,
    RL
