    [Guide] Accepting Client builds with ascent

    When you updated your core and you want it to accept newer patches (client builds) but you dont know what numbers to use it is simple to find out what number you need to put in logon config file at the line:

    Code:
    # Accepted Build Range Setup
    #
    # These two directives set up which clients will be
    # allowed to authenticate with the realm list.
    #
    # Set these to the same builds that the server was
    #    compiled for.
    #
    # As of the last update, version 2.1.1 was build 6739.
    #

    <Client MinBuild = "6739"
            MaxBuild = "7741">
    red numbers are the ones you need to change according to what you wnt!

    ok i list them here starting from 2.1.1:
    Version builds:
    8278 = 2.4.2
    8125 = 2.4.1
    8089 = 2.4.0
    7799 = 2.3.3
    7741 = 2.3.2
    7561 = 2.3
    7359 = 2.2.3
    7318 = 2.2.2
    7272 = 2.2
    6898 = 2.1.3
    6803 = 2.1.2
    6739 = 2.1.1
    6692/6729 = 2.1.0
    6546 = 2.0.12
    6448 = 2.0.10
    6403 = 2.0.8
    6383 = 2.0.7
    6337 = 2.0.6
    6320 = 2.0.5
    6320 = 2.0.4
    6299 = 2.0.3
    6180 = 2.0.1
    6180 = 2.0.0

    this list was created with info from clients and from wowwiki!

    1. With WoW.exe
    So how to find out? there are lot of ways to find out... simply get the patch you wnt installed to your wow client then right click the wow.exe and view properties and go to the "version" tab
    you should see something like this:

    so 2.2.3.7359 then 7359 is the client build number

    2. With WoW.exe
    just point your mouse on your wow.exe and version should popup like this:
    (cant seem to get screens of that ><)

    3. Ingame
    Start wow and at the login screen on the bottom left you should see the clientbuild also! like this:

    The number between brackets is the client build so in this case: 7359

    4. With WoWwiki
    go to wowwiki (Main Page - WoWWiki - Your guide to the World of Warcraft) and search for the patch...
    for example 2.0.1, link: Patch 2.0.1 - WoWWiki - Your guide to the World of Warcraft
    you will see the clientbuild/version on the left side (check screen)

    I will see and keep the client build list updated maybe even update with lower versions...
    I know this might seem to be a stupid guide lol, but as of today i noticed that some people dont know what "client build" is so they use 9999 as max build ><
    Do not start a flameparty becuz you think this is stupid! For some people this will be helpfull, for others this will be junk!

    grtz
