    The only topic you'll ever need to Get your Server Online, with JulianX and Thorz

    Alright, So recently, I was trying to go public with my private server

    All of the guides in the repacks were, Shit, no offense to the people who made said repacks.

    If you want to get it done the right way the first time, Follow Both of these guides, Make sure your settings are complete using info from both of them.

    These guides were not made by me, Hell, I'll even quote the post entirely. Along with the the links of the threads they were originally obtained from.

    Was this helpful? +Rep to JulianX and sign up to AC-Webs and +Rep Thorz too, I didn't write anything in these guides, I'm just simplifying the act of obtaining the information by making a 1 stop topic.

    Have anything negative to say about this topic? Don't post.

    Have a fancy night my darlings.

    Xeneth

    Alright. Finally released? Try. Finally updated. LOL. This tutorial is going to tell you how to make your Antrix server public without having to use Hamachi.

    Don't have the latest AC-Web release? Click here.

    The tutorial is broken down into parts to make it easy to read and follow. Also, the video tutorial was added for further easyness.

    VIDEO: Click here.

    Part One:

    1. Open your Internet Browser. (Firefox. Internet Explorer.)
    2. Go to DynDNS.Com and create and account if you don't already have one.
    3. Log In, and click on the "Services" tab.
    4. Now, Click on Dynamic DNS.
    5. Click on Create Host.
    6. Fill out the fields. Leave everything default except wildcard. Make sure it's checked.
    7. Click add host, and your done with part one.

    Part Two:

    1. Go to Start. Then Run.
    2. Type. C:WindowsSystem32DriversEtc
    3. This will open a folder, Click on Host.file and open it with Notepad/Wordpad.
    4. At the end of the file add the following.

    Code:
    127.0.0.1 (Dynamic DNS)
    (Internal IP) (Dynamic DNS)
    (External IP) (Dynamic DNS)
    Dynamic DNS = The DNS you just created at DynDNS.Com

    Internal IP = Your IP of the computer you are running the Antrix server on, This can be found by going to Start, then Run. Typing in CMD, once the Windows command Prompt opens type in "ipconfig". You will get a readout the one you are looking for is "Ip Address" it normally starts with 192.

    External IP = You outbound ip assigned by your ISP. You can find this by visiting WhatIsMyIP.com.

    5. Save and Quit.

    Part Three:

    1. Open your AC Web Ultimate Repack folder which is saved in your C:.
    2. Open the Ascent folder.
    3. Open your Realms.CONF file with Notepad/Wordpad.
    4. Change

    Code:
    RealmCount ="2"> It should say 2, not 1.
    5. Change

    Code:
    <Realm1 Name = "YOUR REALM NAME"
    Address = "YOUR EXTERNAL IP:8129"
    Icon = "PVP"
    Colour = "1"
    Population = "1.0"
    TimeZone = "1">

    <Realm2 Name = "YOUR REALM NAME - Local"
    Address = "127.0.0.1:8129"
    Icon = "PVP"
    Colour = "1"
    Population = "1.0"
    TimeZone = "1">
    That's what it should look like. You should have two realms. If your confuesed, you can watch the video, and it can explain it better.

    6. Save and Exit. Your done with part three.

    Part Four:

    *Note: I know this part confuses A LOT of people.. So, Watch the movie. It's so much easier.*

    1. Find out what the IP Address is, which allows you to connect to your router. I know Netgear is 192.168.0.1. If you don't know.. Ask your parents, a friend, or your routers help line.

    2. Once you connect, it should ask for a Username & Password. The username is Admin. The password is either admin, or password.

    3. Forward the following ports. If you don't know how.. Ask.

    *Note: Don't use DMZ! It doesn't work. Period.*

    3724 - 3724
    80 - 80
    3306 - 3306
    8129 - 8129
    8093 -8093
    6112 - 6112
    6881-6999
    3036 - 3036
    8050 -8050

    4. If your router has a built in firewall, disable it. Along with any windows firewall you have. Unless you know how to set an exception.

    Part Five:

    Connecting to your Antrix server.

    1. Open your World of Warcraft directory.
    2. Copy your realmlist.wtf, and rename the second one to realmlist2.wtf. (This is so you still have the live server addresses.)

    3. Open your realmlist.wtf in Notepad/Wordpad.
    4. Delete everything, and add "set realmlist 127.0.0.1"
    5. Save and Exit. Move on to part six.

    Part Six:

    Getting your friends to connect to your Antrix server.

    1. Have them open their World of Warcraft directory.
    2. Have them make a copy of their original realmlist.wtf, so they can still play live WoW.
    3. Have them open realmlist.wtf in Notepad/Wordpad.
    4. Have them delete everything, and add "set realmlist (Your Dynamic DNS, which you created in part one.)
    5. Have them Save, Exit & Connect.

    If you did everything correctly. Your server is now public. No Hamachi. Your friends can connect and you can all do whatever you want.

    If for some reason, it's not working.. Watch the video. Maybe, you read someting wrong. If you still can't get it to work, Ask. We will be more than willing to help.

    *Note: Dynamic DNS's can no longer be bought through the Shop. Since we don't have one anymore. They are still avaliable to VIP users though. *

    Thank you,

    Thorz

    Hamachi Guide
    Step 1:: Download Hamachi

    Hamachi - http://files.hamachi.cc/HamachiSetup-1.0.2.1-en.exe

    Step 2 :: Installing Hamachi
    1. Ok when you have Hamachi downloaded, install it to your computer.
    2. Then it should look like a grey window with three buttons at the bottom, which should be Power, Create or Join Networks and Configure Hamachi.
    3. Click on power (if it's not on yet),then click on Create a new Network. Remember username and password are CaSe SeNsAtIVe.
    4. When you made a network make friends connect to that network,and make friends change there realmlist.wtf to your hamachi IP address which should be on top of your hamachi window.
    Example - set realmlist 5.163.218.240

    Step 3 :: Configuring Ascent
    1. Ok what you do is open your logonserver.conf

    scroll down until you see this:

    Code:
    # Host Directive
    #
    # This is the address that the realmlist will listen on.
    # To listen on all addresses, set it to 0.0.0.0
    # Default: 127.0.0.1 (localhost)
    #
    # Note: ISHost is the interserver communication listener.
    #
    <Listen Host = "0.0.0.0" << all you have to do is change this
    ISHost = "0.0.0.0" << and this to you hamachi IP address
    RealmListPort = "3724"
    ServerPort = "8093">

    save and close.
    2. Open up your logonserver.conf
    Go down till you see this:

    Code:
    <LogonServer Address = "127.0.0.1" << Change this to your hamachi IP
    Port = "8093"
    Name = "Default Logon"
    RealmCount = "1">

    3. Scroll further down until you see:
    Code:
    <Realm1 Name = "test realm"
    Address = "127.0.0.1:8129" << Change the 127.0.0.1 ONLY to your hamachi ip address
    Icon = "PVP"
    Colour = "1"
    Population = "1.0"
    TimeZone = "1">

    save and close
    4. Finally Open up your Ascent.Conf

    Now look for something like this:

    Code:

    <Listen Host = "127.0.0.1"<<<Change this to your Hamachi IP Address
    WorldServerPort = "8129"

    Non-Hamachi Guide
    Step 1.
    1. Visit DynDNS.Com and Create an account.
    2. Log in and click "Services" on the menu.
    3. Under DNS Services there will be an option called Dynamic DNS. Click it.
    4. Click on "Create Host."
    5. Fill out the required fields, don't forget to check the box "Enable Wildcard."
    6. Click "Add Host" and your done with this portion of the guide.

    Step 2.
    1. Open C:WindowsSystem32DriversEtcHosts.file
    2. At the end of the File add the following.

    Code:
    127.0.0.1 (Dynamic DNS)

    Dynamic DNS = The DNS you just created at DynDNS.Com

    Step 3.
    1. Open your Realms.conf file in your server files folder.
    2. Change at the bottom of your realms.conf to look like this.

    Code:
    Realm1.Name = "YOUR REALM NAME"
    Realm1.Address = "YOUR DNS HOST NAME:8129"
    Realm1.Icon = "PVP"
    Realm1.Colour = 1
    Realm1.Population = 0
    Realm1.TimeZone = 1

    3. Save and exit. You are now done with this part of the guide.

    Step 4.
    1. Connect to your router. This can normally be done by typing in 192.168.0.1. If your not sure what it is, then go to Start- Run- Type cmd- Type ipconfig. You should see the ip address like above, change the last sequence in it to a 1 and it should work. If you are still having issues consult your routers website on how to login to your router.

    2. Now, It's time to forward the ports. Go into your port forwarding section under your router and forward;

    Code:
    3724 - 3724
    80 - 80
    3306 - 3306
    8129 - 8129
    8093 -8093
    6112 - 6112
    6881-6999
    3036 - 3036
    8050 -8050

    3. If you have a Firewall disable it if you don't know how to set exceptions with it.

    Step 5.
    >This next part is for how you connect.<

    1. Go into your World of Warcraft game directory.
    2. Open realmlist.WTF in Notepad.
    3. Replace everything in it with "set realmlist 127.0.0.1"

    Note: I suggest you make a copy of the realmlist before changing the info so you can still connect to the Live WoW servers.

    Step 6.
    >Getting a friend to connect.<

    1. Follow the above steps, except when in realmlist. WTF have them change it to "set realmlist (Dynamic DNS)"

    If everything is done correctly you should have a public server with out Hamachi, and you and your friends can have all the fun you want. If you are confused or need help please feel free to post your confusion. Also, Please let us know how well this tutorial works out for you, so we can improve it.

    I'd like to ask a seemingly stupid question. Why is everyone using Hamachi, what does it do for you really? I am assuming it is making a VPN-like connection from you to your users. But why is that useful? My server is running and having little to no problems as it is. So I guess I'm of the "if it aint broke don't fix it" generation and cant wrap my head around this. Bottom line i see you forwarding your ports still and using Hamachi so its 2 of the same thing imho. Unless I am not getting it.

    i mean ive been having problems with my fios wireless actiontek router.. no matter what i do i cant seem to get the damnedable thing to let port 80 through. I feel same way about DMZ as you, so i tried ports first. then when that didnt worked opened 0-65535 and put comp in dmz.. that still didnt work so i pretended to be a verizon rep and talked to actiontek for a hour.. they said they dont see anything wrong with my router but cant tell me why port 80 wont forward.. my sql works beautiful, so does my team speak for godssake but still cant get my apache to get out (using xampp) so if this hamachi thing works for that i'd consider it ... though if i understand it right the ppl that are visiting your site have to have hamachi as well.. so the new user would be totally lost.. anyways.. im tired and my eyes are bleeding all i can see is server timed out messages no matter where i look.. soo i think im crashin for a while.. any suggestions hit me up.. aside from that i still cant understand why ppl are setting up hamachi.

    Hey Xeneth, I have a Non Hamachi problem. I've followed the instructions on Thorz's video almost to the letter. I forwaded every necessary port and changed the config files of realms accordingly. I made my own DynDNS service, I edited the 'hosts' file. I feel like it should work perfectly, and I can log on with 127.0.0.1, but when people try to log on from other computers on my DynDNS address, they get stuck on 'connecting'. What do you think could cause this? Thanks alot.

    Have you set up your realms.conf up correctly?

    You should have the LogonServer Address be 127.0.0.1 and the Realm Address be your DNS host. Also make sure that your host file is configured and your IP is known.

    If the DynDNS host doesnt work, I recommend No-IP.com. They have an auto updater that will automatically update your IP to the DNS host you create on your account with the site.

    Hope this helps, cause that's the same problem I had for a while.

    BTW Nice post Xeneth. JulianX is a god! :P
