My Pc Crashes...?

Hey everyone...

I got this problem when I play World of Warcraft my pc crashes in certain zones, it just crashes then restarts 10 seconds after and boots up normally.

The zones are...
Westfall
The Barrens
Swamp of Sorrows
Nagrand
Blades Edge Mountains

This is a World of Warcraft related problem or I think so because my pc does not crash when I play any other game.

Like example...
Colin Mcrae Dirt
Overlord
Stalker

Games that take much more graphics then World of Warcraft.

My pc specs are...
AMD Athlon 64 Processor 3200+
ASUS Motherboard
NVIDIA GeForce 7800 GT 256mb
1024mb ram

My windows is Microsoft XP Professional with Service Pack 2.

I do have the latest DirectX and Display Drivers for my graphics card.

I am sure my pc is not overheating it has 4 fans and very good airflow.

I just want to know what is causing this to happen because I am getting very irritated with this problem, and I want to know if you guys could help me?

My bro has almost the same specs and his WoW works perfect. Maybe you should check for a virus slowing your comp down or lower the GFX.

This is caused by an overheating computer. I used to have this same problem with other games. Open up your computer and give it a nice cleaning.

and maybe a better fan if you got a old one and add a nice paper towel filter *im not sure if thats it though it might be something else it keeps out alot of dust and snuff*

I don't see why it would overheat in just a few zones and not all. And he did say that it doesn't crash when playing other games. The only thing I can say is try getting the most up to date video drivers. If you have the newest ones out maybe try rolling back to older ones. O and when you uninstall the drivers use a program called driver clean to make sure it gets all the old crap out.

I did try formatting my PC then after that I installed a fresh installation of World of Warcraft but it still crashed.

I will give my pc a good cleaning and see if that helps.

I will check the Drivers.

Any more help on this will be appreciated.

It crashes to desktop with no error, then reboots WoW?

I believe there is an Error folder (there is on mine, but I also have PTR installed) in your WoW directory. Check that, see what's in there.

After you reformatted, did you update the GFX card to the latest drivers? If so, try a somewhat-older version.

Also try disabling the hardware acceleration. Or turning off all visual 'splendor' in the game in the video options, and rebooting WoW.

With no BSoD?

Hmm...then that's a different story.

The only time my system used to crash while playing WoW, was because the CPU overheated (my son knocked the CPU fan a little off-balance, and it was overheating.) The system had locks that would shut down the computer if the CPU reached a certain temperature.

If it's not software-related, I'm betting something's wrong with the hardware. Try taking a can of air (you can buy one) and cleaning out your system, make sure that all the fans are not clogged with dust, and keep trying. Also, grab some Q-Tips and a little alcohol and using those to clean out the fans and anywhere else that has dust. Just make sure it all evaporates before turning on the system again

I will do that...

I have took my PC in where I bought it so that they can take a look at it they said there is a file corruption.

I don't think there is a file corruption with World of Warcraft, I have done many fresh installations of World of Warcraft but the problem stays with the game.

I also want to know can addons crash your PC?

Well it may not be this but it may be your power supply but usually your computer shuts off if your power supply is dying or just slow O.o i donno
