[Question] Can I modify common.mpq?

Hi, I would like to know if I could do my model edits directly into common.mpq?
(in order to get my model edits to work with the nerf in 2.3)

Yes, as such, you can edit your common.mpq by useing "Edit archive..." but it will not work since you want that to model edit in 2.3 ... You need a simple MEF.Exe, and we have one for 2.3

You can't alter common.MPQ as long as the signature file is there.

As long as you have a fix that lets wow ignore the signaturefile it will work. The current one does.

Correct me if im wrong but I think 2.3 won't let you load the non-blizzard MPQs. So we just have to do our model editing into the official blizzard's mpqs(common, patch, patch-2) and get a model edit fix for 2.3.

It should not be hard to get it to load patch-4.mpq ... Its even referenced in that PTR-build. But just forget that one ...
