Embersilk cloth HUGE money income!

Hi there. A few days ago me and my friend decided to level up my Tailoring. I needed roughly 800 embersilk cloth's to get to 525skill. So we decided to farm all those embersilk.

We thought this would take atleast a few hours but in the end we got 800 embersilk cloths in exactly 2 hours "!"


Alright, The mobs you will be farming are these :Schnottz Infantryman - NPC - World of Warcraft
They walk in packs of 9 and they have an elite guarding them: Schnottz Elite Infantryman - NPC - World of Warcraft
If you are 2 people farming this, the elite is easily taken down.


There are about 8 packs of mobs walking around. Me and my friend got all those packs down as fast as we could to check the respawn timer and by the time we came back to the first pack they respawned in our faces. Area clear took about 6 mins.

This was farmed with a Prot pally and a fire mage.



Looted after 2 hours :

Embersilk Cloth : 800
Random Greens : 44x
Gold looted : 500g
Random trash loot: 300g
Repair: 150g
NOT including boe blues here because its luck based. We got 4 dropped

Embersilk cloth= 40stacks. My server has a price of 120g/stack, that´s rougly 4800g from
selling the embersilk just as they are.

Random greens disenchanted into about 100+ hypnotic dust
Stack of hypnotic dust @ AH = 500g . 5 stacks, that's about 2500gold!
20 Greater cestial essence = 15g per @ AH = 300g

Profit: 7750gold in 2 hours of farming. Split in 2 because you need to farm these with a friend if you want to do it fast = 3875g

On a sidenote this is great for tailors that needs their embersilk cloth and doesnt want to buy all those silks @ ah .
This is not a VERY huge money income but can be if you combine with leveling tailor= Selling all those blues you just made from all the embersilk cloth

Looks like you might not be able to farm here if you have done the Schnottz chain quest, confirmation plox

Wow this is awsome farmed here last night with a prot pally (i'm shadow priest) we got about 2k embersilk in 5 hours and we earned almost 20k gold from everything! Awsome guide man! +rep

Have you done any quests in Uldum yet? I have done all of them and I fear that you need to have not done the Schnottz chain since I know part of the Obelisk of the Moon is phased after doing it.

I have not done any quests in uldum yet, Im afraid but i will add this to the guide thanks

I personally prefer Deepholm I can get around 350 cloth/hour solo.

I have completed all the Udum quests and I am still able to kill these guys.

doubt it, went there and killed 2 packs, 8 embersilk cloths. I can go there later with a friend for a full hour and report back to you guys

Confirmed. If you've done the quest ot the end, you won't seee these mobs, just the injured dragon.

I did all the quests at Uldum & I am still able to farm these. Still Getting 2-3 Embersilk per pack :/

Maybe you need a tailor with you, and Northern Cloth Scavenging might be bugged to work with Cata?
